Adrien Brody, Jordana Brewster and Akon have joined the cast of the action thriller American Heist, a remake of the 1959 Steve McQueen pic St Louis Bank Robbery that already stars Hayden Christensen. The film tells the story of two brothers with checkered pasts — one struggling on the road to normalcy, the other just released from prison — who intertwine when one drags the other into an ill-fated bank robbery spearheaded by a gang of dangerous criminals, testing the loyalty of their sibling bond and how far they will go for greed and family. Newly formed production company Glacier Films in making this its first feature; financing is in place via Glacier and producer-financier Warren T. Goz. Principal photography begins today.
Christensen and Brody will serve as executive producers with Joseph Nasser and Jack Nasser of Nasser Entertainment Group and Jojo Ryder. Sarik Andreasyan will direct with Tove Christensen, Gevond Andreasyan, Georgy Malkov and Vladimir Poliakov producing. Paradigm reps domestic distribution rights with Voltage handling international sales.
