Veteran unscripted TV executive and producer Kate Shepherd has joined Shine America as VP Development. Shepherd, who most recently was the executive producer and showrunner on the first season of CW/BBC Worldwide Prods’ reality series Breaking Pointe, will oversee development of unscripted programming from within the global Shine Group and work with third-party producers. She will report to Chris Culvenor, Shine America’s SVP Unscripted Development.

In addition to selling and running Breaking Pointe, Shepherd also was a consulting producer on BBCWW’s Lovetown for OWN. From 2008-2011, Shepherd was SVP of TV Development for Simon Fuller’s 19 Entertainment and XIX Entertainment in both London and Los Angeles, where she developed the Spanish-language series Q’Viva: The Chosen starring Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez, which aired on Univision and Fox. Shepherd also developed TV projects for Victoria and David Beckham and Michael Caine.

Before moving to Los Angeles, Shepherd worked for Endemol in London, serving in a variety of roles including VP Development, where she helped create and co-executive produced Coleen’s Real Women for ITV. She was also co-executive producer on Celebrity Big Brother’s Little Brother and Zodiak’s Shipwrecked: Battle Of The Islands and Wife Swap.
