EXCLUSIVE: Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin may make their popular New Year’s Eve specials a regular thing. I hear the duo filmed a pilot today at the CNN studios in the Time Warner Center in New York. Details about the hourlong project are sketchy, but I’ve learned that it had a lot of humor in it and filmed in front of a live audience — which I hear included new CNN topper Jeff Zucker. While it is unclear whether the project is definitely for CNN, Zucker has been looking to shake things up at the ratings-challenged cable news network by adding more mainstream entertainment fare. The annual New Year’s Eve pairing of Cooper and Griffin draws solid ratings and generates a lot of headlines with racy moments like Griffin getting up close and personal with Cooper’s private parts this year. It is also unclear how the new project would fit in with Griffin’s weekly talk show on Bravo, where the comedian has been a fixture for almost a decade and has won two best reality program Emmys for her series My Life On The D-List.

Jeff Zucker, having recently destroyed the NBC network, is about to perform his magic act for CNN. They were poor-bad when he took over…now, having added the dynamic Jake Tapper, and considering the great duo of No-ratings-Cooper to the failed sitcom foul-mouthed “D” list Kathy G…the network is slowing sinking to the left!

I remember in the early 90’s, being glued to CNN for any and all breaking news stories. The first Gulf War, sports, weather, you name it – they were the best. Wolf Blitzer was a King back then.
Today, I don’t even recognize CNN. I never watch it anymore and am fed up with the crap they now call “reporting”. I go to the web for news now; not because I want to, but it’s the only option for unbiased news.

The internet gives you access to news stories from all over the globe. Sometimes, there’s more truthful reporting from foreign news sites with more detail from overseas then from the limited/controlled news pablum that we’re fed here in the US. You always verify/check the consistencies of one news item by reading multiple sites…with multiple windows open. You pull out the consistent facts and ignore the rest of the fluff…which is editorializing and opinion.

It’s about time! Go for it, Kathy, Anderson and CNN, and put the show on at 11:30 pm weeknights, where there soon will be no competition from any of the current late night flops. Leno has always been great, but NBC seems determined to to destroy his career again.
That lineup couldn’t win up against F-Troop reruns. Griffin is anathema to 60% of the country–and I don’t mean merely disliked–I mean loathed. Her hostility to traditional American values makes her a problem–not a solution–to CNN’s viewership woes. She belongs on MSNBC along with the other far left kooks.
