      1. She has already ‘happened’, Michelle. Wake up and smell the coffee! No complaints from me, i think she’s awesome. And nobody gets people talking like Kristen. Like her or loathe her she is way more interesting than the majority of bland, oatmeal actresses out there at present. No doubt you will deny it but the fact that you are talking about her says it all!

        1. Actually, “being interesting” is not exactly the thing which comes in mind if we talk about Kristen.
She clearly has problems with presentation herself.

    1. I would worry more about my grammar and less about the declining standards of an Awards Show. “More worse” Haha. Besides, there have been worse people presenting at film/tv awards shows than Kristen. I guess JLo and the likes are acceptable presenters. Watch her indie films before you judge.

      1. You mean those indie movies which she campaigned her ASS off for awards only to end up with ZERO nominations and wins from ANY group? Even Emma Watson was awarded more for her performance in Perks of Being a Wallflower.

        1. For what is worth Watson somewhere near the end was considered as a “spoiler” possibility since she the san diego awards, she was runner up in the BSFC and got 3 more nominations!Though Stewart has trying soooooooo hard for a nomination for her ON THE ROAD performance she did not get anywhere near Watson!

Plus from what i’m hearing Watson done a magnificent job in Noah!

    2. KStew has just as much of a right to be a presenter as Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Garner, and John Travolta. Also, that awful Snow White film was nominated in the Costume Design category. Not a fan of hers, but I really don’t understand this odd level of vitriol for her.

      1. It’s jealous Rob pattinson fans. They are insane! The mere mention of Kristen puts them into a tail spin!

    1. Seriously, you get so worked up over an actress that you’ll refuse to watch the Oscars because she’ll spend 2 minutes presenting an award? Like I said, not a fan but the level of vitriol towards her is just odd. It’s not like she’s pulled a Mel Gibson. She was in one huge money-maker and one modest money-maker this year, so it makes sense that she’ll present. Anyway, if Jennifer Aniston, Travolta, and co. are there I don’t get the big deal about KStew.

  1. I’ll tell you why Kristen Stewart is presenting, because she was the highest paid actress of 2012 and she has been in one of moviedoms highest grossing franchises of all time, she deserves to be there and I’m so proud to be one of her many many fans and supporters…Take your hate and stupid comment and post it where it’s more welcome,in the gutter where all haters come from.

    1. You’re thinking of the MTV Movie Awards. Or do you think Twilight has a million Oscar nominations?

  2. The answer is obvious. Kristen is presenting because the Academy knows that with her HUGE fanbase, they will have a bigger audience watching the show. Plus, she has star power. GO KRISTEN!!!

      1. Her fans didn’t have a chance to see her independent movies because they weren’t properly distributed. Welcome to the Rileys was shown in 11 theaters and On the Road was only shown in 6. Compared to her franchise movies (shown in over 4,000 theaters), well then her non-franchise movies wouldn’t get a chance to be seen/make money, now would they?

  3. yeah, she only starred in 3 movies last year, 2 of which are blockbusters and she also happens to have been in a steady stream of movies for the last decade, be the highest paid actress last year, and is only 22. I can see how hard her people have worked to make her “try to happen”.

  4. Her people do not need to try. She is here already and the evidence – highest paid actress in 2012, greenlighted a mega billion $$$$$ franchise, critical nods for a number of her performances, box office queen for 2012, recognition for her successful and biggest transformation between her roles in twilight and otr. Etc…..

  5. If you don’t like her that’s your choice. But if you were really watching the oscars for the right reasons, you’d simply either a) deal with the “agony” or her on screen for 45 seconds or b) switch the gosh darn channel! I love the cinema and the oscars are a celebration of 2012’s cinematic brilliance… Why on earth would “kstew” be reason enough to avoid watching?!

  6. Two points. First, over half of the people on that list aren’t Oscar winners but have stared in many films audiences enjoy; not all films created fall into the narrow categories the academy details as Oscar requirements. Second, while I’m open minded enough to understand twilight may not be everyone’s cup of tea, kristen stewart is NOT synonymous to twilight! It may have contributed, albeit quite significantly, to her decade long career but it in NO way defines it. People need to stop judging solely on the aspects they consider negative in her career. I’m not saying to focus on the positive, but at least take the time to consider both.

  7. Well SWatH does have some costume noms – right? It’s not like she’s there for anything else she’s done.

  8. We don’t really care if Kristen Stewart was the highest paid actress of 2012. We are talking about The Oscars people

    1. It’s a relevant point, when one makes inane questions like “her people are working hard to make her happen” and “why is she presenting?” Whether you care for her or not, she was in a very successful (if terrible) blockbuster, she was in another film that grossed around $400 million, and has been in quite a few indies over the years. Awards shows have always had presenters with those qualities over the years; it’s not like they seek out Masterpiece theatre actors to do all of the presenting. Key word, presenting. As pointed out above, the Snow White movie was also nominated for costume design and if Garner, Aniston, Paul Rudd are presenting Stewart has just as much of a right to be there. Technically, she’s been more successful than Rudd, Aniston, and Garner over the past few years too.

      1. Actually she had had a bigger BO then the people you mentioned maybe combined.

It seems that the Oscar committee is scraping the barrel. Many of the presenters are in nominated films this year. Others are people you know will never be nominated for any kind of Oscar. I think KStew has as much right to be there as some of the other very untalented people that will be presenting that night as well.

  10. If a tv sitcom has-been like Aniston can get the gig, surely the female star of a blockbuster franchise actually has earned her place to present an award.

  11. So what’s your point in bringing in Emma Watson in a discussion of Kristen Stewart. It is people like you that have no clue what the Oscars process involves and create all these unfounded assumptions that gives this awards a really bad name.
If you paid any attention you would have known tjat Kristen was incuded on the list of “serious threats” for Best Supporting Actress by the Awards Analysts including Scott Feinberg. Kristen was invited to several panel discussions and Awards Banquets because of this Awards buzz for her performance in OTR. She did not campaign for herself. Like it or not she is here to stay and she will have a long and amazing career in the movie industry and she’s only 22. So, don’t comment unless you have the facts straight.

  12. You are wrong in making that statement….Kristen is not synonymous with Twilight and that is your biggest mistake. You know nothing of Kristen’s cinematic.history and yet you judge her harshly. I think your ignorance has clouded your brain and renderef you incapable of a rational discussion.

  13. Why is there so much hate towards her? She’s actually chose to be herself & different from the same ole we see with other stars. It’s refreshing. She’s 22! She has a long career ahead of herself. If the anger is about the “affair”…. do you really believe it actually happen? Rob & her, whether together or not, each have bright & exciting futures!

  14. Why was Kristen such a late addition to present? She’s not a huge name like Jane Fonda. That I understand.

  15. Boring. Just like her attitude. Let’s see if she’s learned anything. Is she still ungrateful or has she learned a lesson or two. Twilight was the worst thing to happen to her.

  16. As much as people complain about Kristen Stewart, every single comment was from a person who took the time to write about her. I feel that people are jealous of Kristen’s success. Kristen Stewart won a BAFTA, one of the highest accolades in film and television. Also, the fact that she doesn’t pull thousands of different faces within her films is testament to her ability as an actress, she’s subtle, real and raw; it’s what gives her an edge over actresses like Jennifer Aniston. She’s edgy and controversial, and that’s exactly what I love about her.
