Here we go again… On Two And A Half Men, Angus T. Jones‘ character was always looking up to his uncle, played by Charlie Sheen. Now Jones is emulating Sheen in real life with a tirade bashing the racy sitcom. “If you watch Two And A Half Men, please stop watching Two And A Half Men,” the religious teenager says in a testimonial for Forerunner Christian Church (see the video below). “I’m on Two And A Half Men, and I don’t want to be on it. Please stop watching it, and filling your head with filth…. If I am doing any harm, I don’t want to be here. I don’t want to be contributing to the (Satan’s) plan,” says Jones, who has become very serious about his faith in the past several months. “You cannot be a true God-fearing person and be on a television show like that. I know I can’t. I’m not OK with what I’m learning, what the Bible says and being on that television show.”
Jones, who earns more than $300,000 an episode, goes on to warn people about the impact of television and shows like Men. “People say it’s just entertainment,” he says. ”Do some research on the effects of television and your brain, and I promise you you’ll have a decision to make when it comes to television, especially with what you watch.” CBS and Warner Bros TV, which produces Men, had no comment. Jones, whose character is in the Army, does not appear in every episode of the show this season and is not scheduled to be in the two slated to film before Men goes on a winter break.
During his public 2011 meltdown that led to his firing from Men, Sheen called the show “dribble” and “pukefest” among other things. After a slow start on Thursday, the veteran comedy has been solid for the last few weeks, posting season high ratings with its most recent original. Men as well as its stars Ashton Kutcher, Jon Cryer and Jones have no deals beyond this season, the show’s 10th. The sitcom made Jones, who just turned 19, the highest paid child actor on TV. As an adult, he still is among the biggest sitcom earners.

It’s about time! Maybe this show will be cancelled. Maybe it will allow the actors to move on to better projects. I’m not religious, but I definitely agree that 2.5 men is blasphemous.
blasphemous? and you say you’re not religious what a joke
I am not saying that it is blasphemous in a religious way, just that it is ridiculous that it is still on television, and if there was a god, it would spare us 10 seasons of this turd of a show.
I wasn’t aware that if you owned a TV that you were forced to watch 2 and a Half Men.
No, you aren’t. You can watch other shows if you prefer. Not sure why you thought that.
he just wants a pay raise… he’s the new charlie!! lol…
miley cyrus was riveting !!talk about a shot in the arm!!!?? hire her in his place and call it two men and a girl!!lol..
Maybe he meant blasphemous against the Television Gods… In which case I’m inclined to agree.
It’s the greatest show since Beavis AndButthead!
The content is always hilarious and entertaining!
and that is the whole point here it’s PURELY ENTERTAINMENT!
If you are offended by it by all means change the channel
but there are some of us who really like it even with the Great Charlie Sheen long gone!
I am 53 if that helps any so I am not a teenaged stoner spouting off
Cool, Mr. Lorre should make this brat’s character commit major debauchery on the show and become an atheist — then bring in Dana Carvey as his (Church Lady) therapist. Ratings bonanza.
Excellent idea.
Awesome lol
As a devout member of this church, I agree with his stance. We should shield our eyes from ANYTHING that “God” deems bad. In fact, why not take it a step further, and just burn what we deem the “devil’s work”? Why not just burn all of Los Angeles to the ground, since it makes “the devil’s TV shows”?
Slippery slope, isn’t it? This line of thinking is beyond intellectually juvenile. Isn’t religion wonderful?
Your logic is juvenile. He didn’t say we should perform destructive acts. He said make a choice in your individual life not to subject yourself to something that could damage your soul.
Is secularism and its twisty logic wonderful?
Hardly.
Yes! You totally nailed it WRTRPROD7 – only comment that GOT the point of the whole thing :o)
Yes, Religion is “Aaamazing” because it’s “Blind” … we must follow it without thinking. God gave us brains but prohibited us from using it ;-)
Look up the bizarre crap his mentor in the video has been preaching and you come to an astounding conclusion: on Two and a Half Men, Charlie was not the crazy one!
The show has been bad from the beginning. And has only gotten worse, people need to realize that if our society today is going to survive they need to have a moral conscience, and this one helps erode that from life. Have people thought about the fact he is under contract to continue for the reminder of the season and so he has no choice but to continue being in the show and there would probably be many large consequences to not only himself but the others involved if he were to try to leave. He is walking a fine line here and I pray that he is able to make the best decision.
Well, if you had read the article you would know you’re entire post is wrong. He isn’t in the last two episodes before the show goes to winter break. There’s no deals beyond this season for him, or Kutcher, or Cryer. So if he wants to walk, he can. He has a choice, so I guess you can stop praying for that.
And I guess you also hate Tripping the Rift?
These shows are for entertainment purposes only people, if you are offended then turn the tv off and go take up pottery or quilting!
As for me I’ll love and watch it until the day ‘they’ take it off the air, until then I will sit here scratching my man parts and loving every blasphemous second of the show while it still airs!
Off topic? Bore you? Don’t be so self flattering.
One, if people don’t like or disapprove of the show, they are welcome to change the channel. This is after all, still the United States and should continue recognizing the Constitution.
Sesond; If the kid was in such moral turmoil, then why the f#%k did he continue taking his salary? Why not hire a lawyer with some of the money he (supposedly reluctantly)took as salary and break his contract and then disappear into private life?
These ‘stars’ that allegedly see the err in the ways of their lives that become poster children for the causes against which they rail should be taken outside for a parking lot beating.
I agree….I totally love the fact that he gets the damage his character has contributed or is contributing to viewers’ sinful ways of thinking and behaving.
so dont watch it
What exactly makes it a blasphemy? Because it does not fit into YOUR idea of what is good? It is no worse than the other shows and actually is many times better than all those dumb ‘reality’ shows that are forced upon us! It is pure entertainment and should only be taken for such!
Really?! If you don’t like it, then don’t watch it. Nobody is forcing you to sit in front of the tv for 30 minutes to watch “Two & A Half Men”. If you are doing this than secretly you like it but do not want to admit it. What you need to do is quit complaining get up and go find something useful to do besides trying to ruin millions of peoples tv show. Or you know what?… There is this thing called a remote… Change the Channel!
Well if the show is that bad and evil, then he should donate every penny he ever made from starring on the show. I mean …. since it is sooo bad and evil, right? But the money is OK to keep I’m sure. Religious people always make their religions around their lives, instead of making their lives around religion! When will people finally figure out for themselves that all gods are man-made to keep man in control by religious leaders and such! WAKE UP JERKS!!
This is hysterical. Is Jones going to donate his enormous weekly paycheck to charity? (A legitimate charity – not his church.)
Agree. If the show he is working on is “contributing to the enemy’s plan”, then he is also contributing.
Return all your paychecks and quit acting. Then I will at least have respect for your stance.
Wait there’s an additional convo to be discussed; This young kid is being used as a commercial to flat out “sell” LDS/sell Forerunnner Church/sell Christian agenda/sell this Pastor/sell this Pastor’s videos. (The Pastor, “coincidentally was in California” to film Angus’ testimonial.) The kid’s obviously in some form of conflict(healthy or not) and aiming to shape his identity. Sadly, he’s maybe a bigger pawn in Forerunner’s agenda vs CBS/Lorre. Watching that testimonial, he so desperately wants to be “cool”. If he was an unknown homeless kid off Hollywood Blvd, with $2 in dimes to his name, would that same Pastor have sat like that with him, personally doing his “testimonial”? Oh Angus, the only reason they’re interested in you is because [your affiliation] that heathen show will bring them attention. As it has…
Affiliation? Really? IT IS ONLY ABOUT HOW MUCH MONEY HE CAN DONATE. Does anyone get that???
HE IS SIMPLY STATING HIS OPINION of the truth!
What we can’t voice our opinion, does it step on that many toes?
No it’s both, obviously. Love the smultzy music that goes with (always!) And the fact that even that still doesn’t clue people in!
He probably won’t
And this is why religious people are the worst. They have such ridiculous tunnel vision.
Actually, tunnel vision causes one to condemn and demonize an entire group of people based on one individual’s (free speech rights) comments.
So, burr, are you saying that only Christians are allowed to condemn and demonize? I support the kid’s right to freely say what he wants, and I support Barkey’s right to call him on it.
@ger, no I, believe burrrbank is making a point that people with tunnel vision do not take in all of the facts when using blanket, defamatory statements of an entire group based on their own personal bias, or based on one person’s actions.
Not Christians per se but the Catholics are so quick to condemn and demonize (I was a roman catholic until I grew up!)
I have enjoyed Mr. Jones in his tenor on 2&A Half, but I thought he was rather intelligent, despite his character’s ‘shortfalls.’
But with this rant (highly encourage no doubt by his new ‘Pastor’) he not only bites the hand that has fed him very well, but also shows that he is not as intelligent as I thought. It’s understandable considering his age (and the fact that he ‘grew up’ literally and figuratively in Hollywood) that he would now have doubts about his profession, but that still doesn’t speak well for his being manipulated like this.
Yes the show is raunchy. Yes, I have liked it for a while. Yes, he is growing up and choosing his path as an adult. But still… Unless he is resigning from acting completely, he will still have roles he is chosen for which don’t jive with his new religion. He’s an actor; that’s what acting is all about.
How can you construe what he said as “tunnel vision”? The fact that a religious stance brings such anger out of the progressives on here shows how intolerant you are. Who has the tunnel vision?
Has he given all the money he has made from the show to charity? Then he can shut the F*ck up. You don’t like it, quit. What an asshole.
Agreed!!!!! F him!
Not everything is about money. When you are willing to donate your entire paycheck to something, then start cussing people out for not doing it with theirs. Until you make sacrifices, don’t criticize other people. And you’ll discover once you do start giving to somethng you believe in, you’ll treat people nicer.
I don’t see Angus returning his paychecks.
The only “filthy” thing about 2.5 Men is that it’s not funny.
+1
I sense an adoption episode next season…
So I suppose Angus plans to donate his many many millions from that show to his church? It’s blood money, after all. Who in good conscience could keep it.
What a hypocrite. Believe me, I agree the show is blasphemous. And boring. But that’s a cowardly thing to do to your employers and co-workers.
Again that word
Yeah that word — Blasphemy blasphemy blasphemy… That’s what this show is…. Blasphemy against comedy!
Rule of three. Works every time.
Yes, he may be a hypocrite for not giving up his “devil’s” money, but no more so than Warren Buffet, Spielberg, Clooney, Bon Jovi, et al. Let them give up 75% of their wealth and income instead of telling the rest of us how much we should enjoy being taxed. Hollywood is full of preachy hypocrites.
those people you mentioned DO give TONS of their money away…to charity. maybe you should find some other rich people to be bitter towards.
I respect his religious fervor but he’s a giant hypocrite who got filthy rich from this filthy show. They have to fire him immediately meaning today. Right away before lunch. They have to send his character to the army full-time his character joined the army last year but he’s always hanging around the house. It’s time for him to go to Afghanistan and never be seen again. He should be ok with this decision it’s what he wants so give it to him if they keep him on the show they’re idiots.
Jones has finally spoken the truth about that show. There’s nothing “family” oriented about it. I refuse to let my kid watch it.
Hey it not a kids show it’s for adults moron
well, i’m sure he won’t feel horrible giving back all the $$$ he’s made on that FILTHY show…
I don’t understand why anyone would suggest that Angus needs to return the money for which he worked. I also wonder if everyone watched the same interview. In his interview it was stated very clearly that Angus had been drawn to the bible and this opened his eyes to many things. One of which was a believe that the show he was on has very little redeeming social value. It is his right to speak out for his beliefs. As it is ours to state our comments. I hope he remains strong. Just reading these comments shows one how difficult it is to proclaim a belief in something greater than this mess of a world we live in.
Totally agree, Nia.
He was what – 10 years old – when he started on this program? Do you think he – a young child at the time – really understood the whole premise and attitudes that are conveyed on it? Highly unlikely. He was steered into this role by adults.
He has since grown and is showing maturity. Let him express his views and make his own choices, as exceptional as they are, according to today’s standards. His conscience is bothering him and he is acting on it. He may choose to step away entirely. If that is the case, kudos to Angus T. Jones and his courage to make a stand. As for the money, well, he may just ‘pay it forward’ in a way that appeases his conscience and gives back to those in need. I’ll take a ‘wait and see’ position on that one.
As well, I will continue to watch this young man grow, with interest.
And yet, he cashes his paychecks…
Yes I think the pillow is filled with his cash.
I’m more offended that it’s lowest common denominator garbage and not funny.
That said, how many millions of dollars worth of paychecks has Angus cashed before he came to this conclusion? Don’t recall him trashing his show before.
Yes, this is the Christian thing to do… put people out of work.
This kid has money bags pouring out of his eye sockets. If the show is a sin, then why not put all that money back into church sponsored programs that help the needy.
Put your money where your mouth is kid… otherwise… it’s just GREED.
Putting people out of work, hmm? If this show went off the air, a new one would come on that would also employ people. Very likely few or none of the same ones, but they choose to be in a volatile business and have their eyes open going in.
Fire up the vanity cards, Chuck!
He acts like he has a gun to his head. He is like a drug dealer talking about how awful heroin is and how you shouldnt do it while wrapping your arm and handing you the needle.
“I’m not religious, but I definitely agree that 2.5 men is blasphemous.”
That was good for a laugh.
2.5 Men may be crap, but it’s crap that has made this young man financially secure. Of course he’s free to believe whatever he wants to believe, but I think he’s being especially disingenuous and frankly disrespectful to those who have provided him with a career and a lifetime of financial comfort. Once he’s fulfilled his contractual obligations, he’s free to make the same kind of pseudo-Christian crap that Kirk Cameron makes, but in the meantime, I think he should keep his mouth shut and thank God for all that he has been given up to now.
First Beyonce is directing a documentary about herself and now this. Is this April Fool’s Day or something?
Wow between Charlie Sheen’s erratic behavior and now this, I’ve been more entertained by the cast than I have been by any epsiode of 2.5 men.
Yeah, ain’t it a blast?
Congratulations to Angus T Jones for growing a conscience. Before, he was just a little kid who didn’t know any better. Now he’s developed a scruple about this turd of a TV show, and he wants out. If you slanderers try reading what he actually wrote, he is asking the producers to release him from employment. That is an example of trying to act with integrity.
And he’s absolutely right, the show is a sewer, it always has been.
So don’t watch it and leave the rest of us alone.
2/1/2 is not the only show to use sex etc
That is crap. You don’t go out to the public and blast a tv show that you became ultra rich from. You be a man and go to Chuck Lorre and discuss it maturely with him. What he did makes him a little boy. Not old enough to deal with adult situations like talking to the Boss. I hope they do kick him off the show. In a few years, Lifetime can do a “Where are they now” segment of him lving off the streets since he was so immature and can’t get another tv show. Plus, he needs to give every dime he ever made on the show to charity TODAY! He won’t though because that would be the adult thing to do and since he is a baby he will just keep the money flowing.
We don’t know that he didn’t go to Lorre. Maybe he did, and Lorre wouldn’t let him out of his contract. Jake’s stupidity (which may anger Angus more than anything) is a very convenient and entertaining source of humor.
Charlie is probably a nightmare personally, but professionally no one has ever bad mouthed him. Sure he uses drugs, but he shows up and nails his lines, such as they are.
Lorre may be part of the problem.
Well who’s to say he hasn’t had some sort of “awakening”? to give him the benefit of the doubt… he started on the show when he was, what, 12? I’m sure he’s had pressure to just shut up, show up and do what he’s doing… from managers, agents, family and friends. Maybe just now he’s finally feeling strong enough to speak up.
And as for what he’s done with his salary… that’s not the issue. The issue is what he WILL do with his salary moving forward.
It’s easy for all of us, out here, hiding behind the anonymity of the internet to cast aspersions, but to do something and put your name on it, takes real courage and conviction.
Stop being well-reasoned. This is no place for civil discourse!
Well said. Absolutely agree!
Hey guys and Jockomo, what a lovely thing to reveal your knowledge of ‘Awakening’ on a comment board such as this one is about, which is designed to create judgment, comment and controversy.
Gotta say you have a point there, jockomo
very well said….so easy for everyone behind their keyboard to just sputter random crap. Walk a week in that person’s life, before you even remotely begin to “judge”.
I am NOT a religious person, but the show using degrading methods for humor. We do not really know the circumstances that has led him to this point of speaking out. But speaking out he is. He just didn’t do it very wisely. Mostly because he is a celebrating.
The big question is how does he handle it from here.
So will Angus be giving back or donating the millions he’s made from his role in this blasphemous filth? Wouldn’t that be blood money?
If he’s so commited to his religon and is against the show, then why doesn’t he quit and leave the show already?
You don’t just walk when you have contractual obligations.
He is right in something. The show is not funny anymore. It is filth alright. And same goes for 2 Broke Girls and Mike and Molly.
The best sitcom is Modern Family. It doesn’t need to go to the low levels of CBS comedies to be funny,
yeah, because there’s nothing tawdry or sexual about dude constantly lusting after his father-in-law’s bodacious hot trophy wife. i didn’t just flip by an episode where the gay guys had their daughter in the car while they had two giant stuffed animals strapped to their roof looking like they were having sex. and their biggest ep. had nothing to do with sex or the kids walking in on their parents doing it. you want to like that show, that’s fine. but shut up, Sam!
What’s wrong with any of that? That’s perfectly fine… sex happens, we all do it.. all the time.
You little hypocrite. You say the devil is diabolical in his ways when talking about television..and you do not want to contribute to the enemy’s plan? Yet, you’re on a show which you deem to part of his plan…which is garbage anyway? I think it’s time you get cut from the show. While people are struggling for work in this town, you come out with this? Fuck you…
In addition to liking the money, he is under contract, isn’t he? He can’t just LEAVE, or he’ll get sued.
I had no idea he’s a religious nut. My parents believe in God too but there’s a difference between believing in him and being cuckoo. If you so despise your show (trust me I despise it too) give all the money you earned from it to charity.
What’s the difference?
