EXCLUSIVE: Sherri Cooper and Jennifer Levin, who wrote and are executive producing the CW’s Beauty And The Beast reboot, have signed an overall deal with CBS TV Studios, the studio behind the freshman series. The two-year pact will include Cooper and Levin’s services as executive producers/co-showrunners on Beauty And The Beast, which they run with Kelly Souders and Brian Peterson.
It also expands Cooper and Levin’s relationship with CBS Studios, where they had a two-script deal last season when they were also consulting on the studio’s freshman drama Unforgettable. They got both of their projects under that deal — Beauty And The Beast and Applebaum at CBS, which they co-wrote/exec produced — picked up to pilots, with one of them, Beast, making it to series. WME-repped Cooper and Levin are not a formal writing team; they paired up for developing after working together on ABC’s Brothers & Sisters. Cooper’s previous credits include Miss Match, Everwood and American Dreams; Levin started on Chicago Hope, Felicity and Without A Trace.
