“As executive producer of Fashion Star I’m really excited by our choice of Louise as host for the second season, I think her presence will energize and surprise,” said series creator Macpherson, who stepped down from her hosting duties following the show’s renewal for a second season. Roe called hosting Fashion Star “an absolute dream job for me.” “As a host I love working with a live audience, but I’m also looking to use my experience as a journalist and designer, to very much empathize with the buyers and contestants,” said Roe, who has own line of shoes, bags and apparel.
Featuring Jessica Simpson, Nicole Richie and John Varvatos as judges, Fashion Star has not been a ratings standout, averaging a modest 1.3-1.5 in adults 18-49 during its first season. But it is very advertiser-friendly and spawned a successful fashion line offshoot. Fashion Star is produced by Ben Silverman’s Electus, 5X5 Media and Magical Elves Prods.
