Cutter Hodierne’s short film Fishing Without Nets, about Somali pirates and starring actual refugees and former hostages, won the Grand Jury Prize at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. Now production is set to kick off this month in East Africa on a feature version written and to be directed by Hodierne. Youth brand Vice Media is producing and financing with Think Media Studios. Original producers Hodierne, Raphael Swann, and John Hibey return in that role and have partnered with Ben Freedman and Rupert Wyatt of Picture Farm, along with Victor Shapiro. Vice’s Eddy Moretti and Shane Smith will executive produce with Think Media’s Joe LoConti. Brian Glazen and Stephanie Pinola of Think Media will also produce. WME Global assembled financing and reps worldwide rights; WME Global and Principato Young also rep Hodierne.
