Two British journalists who work for newspapers owned by Trinity Mirror and Northern & Shell Media have been arrested on suspicion of bribery, the Wall Street Journal reported. The arrests are the result of the continuing probe in connection with scandals that have largely focused on News Corp newspapers. Both of the people arrested were men whom the police didn’t identify but Trinity Mirror confirmed that one was Sunday Mirror tabloid crime reporter Justin Penrose. A person familiar with the situation said Northern & Shell’s reporter was Tom Savage of the Daily Star Sunday. Neither has been charged with a crime. In the larger investigation, some 40 people have been arrested in the bribery probe, including journalists and public officials including police officers and prison guards.
