Luke Y. Thompson is contributing to Deadline’s coverage of Comic-Con.
The former California governor said during Lionsgate‘s panel for the action pic The Expendables 2 today at Comic-Con that he will make a sequel to the 1988 movie Twins in which he co-starred with Danny DeVito. He is reteaming with that movie’s original director Ivan Reitman too, Schwarzenegger said, the project is in development and they are looking for a writer.
It would be the latest project set up for the action star since he re-entered the Hollywood fold. He is starring in the David Ayer-directed action thriller Ten for Open Road and also alongside Sylvester Stallone in the high-tech prison drama The Tomb for helmer Mikael Hafstrom.

oh my god.
you have got to fucking kidding.
Why?
Why not? Triplets should have been made long ago. If they cast the right guy to play the third brother it’ll be a big hit.
Previous story reported Eddie Murphy is in talks for the third brother. Google it…
………………..REALLY?
That’s it. The Seventh Seal just ruptured.
It would honestly be very dificult to come up with a worse idea than this (not that I’m saying it couldn’t be done).
Alex, it could be done, but it would probably take a “Manhattan Project” level of effort to do it.
Here’s a worst idea: Arnold singing Shakespeare in a musical. Shirtless (stretch marks and sag! Ooooo, sexy!). (How do you live in America for over 50 years and never master the language?) Take some advise from an old person: You either retire gracefully or crash and burn with tons of embarrassment.
God bless America
Any big TWINS fans out there? Anyone? Anyone? Beuller?
Hell, JINGLE ALL THE WAY 2: Turboman’s Revenge makes more sense.
Didn’t they already try that?
Why taint the original?
what a waste of time and money
There’s a brand here. There’s a movie here – find it!
hes crazy lol
Twins came out in 1998. Good golly.
Okay, but who wants to see this?
“I’ve only been driving for about an hour.”
Seriously, what a bad idea.
In other news the universe is collapsing.
At last – movies for the Social Security demographic!
I’m part of that demographic. Nope. I’m not interested in this crap.
THIS IS GREAT NEWS F ALL Y’ALL
I didn’t realize that Ivan and Arnold were starving to get back in the game so badly that they would try resurrect this piece of crap movie. Who in 2015 would pay $14 a ticket to see it?
No one. Remember the the first ‘Expendables’ went to video with lightening speed. The economics of high budget films in this economy is bad; damned bad. They’re gambling on us old folks to turn out to re-visit movies of our past and a young generation that might want to see a new version of what they saw on their parents VHS…yeah, right. I see a flop coming to netflix in a manner of minutes and getting 2 stars.
Steve’s right. This is awesome.
Oh, and I’ll write it.
I’m sorry but I don’t agree. First of all he never could act, he made his millions on what is now a past genre that just isn’t as popular anymore, and re-hashing the same ancient scripts over and over…sad, pathetic and boring. As a person pushing 60 myself…also more than a little embarrassing. Finally; considering he has to have kidney dialysis 3 – 4 times a year as a result of all the steroids he used, this can’t be good for that elderly man’s health.
I love how everyone sounds off on what a bad idea it is when they don’t even have a writer yet. Maybe opinions ARE arseholes.
