It was back in the water Tuesday and a big night for NBC — both wet and dry. The U.S. Olympic Trials: Swimming Finals (1.9/7), live from Omaha, Neb, looks in fast nationals to be the trials‘ largest audience since August 20, 2000, drawing 7 million viewers. That could change later in the day with updated nationals, bringing it closer to Monday’s total viewership of 6.93 million, basically tying the two nights for the post-2000 high.
Post-Olympics on NBC, America’s Got Talent (3.2/9) at 9 PM pushed up 7% from its Tuesday airing two weeks ago. Talent was the night’s most watched show with 11.52 million viewers. At 10 PM, Love In The Wild (1.6/5) was up 23% from last week, which was a season low. Fox let Gordon Ramsay light its fires with Hell’s Kitchen (2.2/7) and MasterChef (2.2/6). Kitchen was flat with last week, while MasterChef was up 5% to mark its most-viewed Tuesday so far this summer. NBC won the night in overall viewers and tied Fox for first in adults 18-49.
ABC had repeats with Last Man Standing at 8 PM (0.9/3) and 8:30 PM (0.9/3), followed by a two-hour Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition (0.6/2). CBS aired repeats of NCIS (1.1/4) and NCIS: LA (1.0/3), with a 48 Hours Mystery (1.0/3) repeat at 10 PM.
