  1. Lead Actor: Darnell Williams
    Lead Actress: Debbi Morgan

Time for Emmy to make history, for a change.

No one comes close. 2012 Emmy’s for Darnell and Debbi. The very best of 2011, for sure.

  2. Wouldn’t it be ironic if “All My Children” won for Outstanding Daytime Drama and cast members from that show or “One Life To Live” swept the acting awards??

    1. Extreme Heat, you took the words right out of my mouth. John was only in blink & you will miss him scenes. Also, Heather Thom was no more than a supporting actress in that debacle of force feeding us vapid Hope & cartoon character villainess Steffi. B&B is just tripe.

  3. How was “Judge Judy” not nominated? LOL.

After being associated with Laura Spencer for three decades, there’s something strange about Genie Francis being nominated for playing another character.

Hmmm. Can Jonathan Jackson win a fifth Emmy for his last season as Lucky Spencer?

  4. If there are 4 nominees for Oustanding Drama Series next year, I wonder what they will be?

  5. Who cares? Aren’t there only like 2 soap operas left anyways? They should just cancel the Daytime Emmys and announce the soap opera winners during the Creative Arts Emmys.

Since the Daytime Emmys are airing on HLN (this is my controlling my laughter), clearly nobody cares anymore.

    1. Sadly, the Daytime Emmys are joke. Who cares? ABC dumped two of the three soaps they had and General Hospital, the leading Emmy winner, was on the verge of cancellation. What does that say about these pointless awards? Not much.

  6. I think that daytime Emmy’s should include Spanish soaps. There are only 2 English soaps left what will they do next year?

    1. Last count there were 4. But why not aim for a larger audience? Add subtitles & sell them to other countries.

  7. One Life to Live was the Best Show of the year. Erica Slezak the Best Actress. Jerry ver Dorn, Best Supporting Actor. Ilene Kristin the Best Supporting Actress. Austin Williams the Best Younger Actor. Darnell Williams should take the Best Actor Award. Young and the Restless & General Hospital for Best Show is a joke. But the biggest joke is Genie Francis for Supporting Actress.

  8. How about because it’s called the Daytime Emmys not the Soap Awards. Talks shows, game shows, informative programming, children’s programming, etc all have categories. I know the Soaps were the major draw but the times they are a changing

  9. How Maurice Bernard is nominated year after year for stuttering, stammering, and creating the most oddly placed pauses in the creation of dialogue truly mystifies me.

  10. “OUTSTANDING SUPPORTING ACTOR
Bradford Anderson (Damien Spinelli, General Hospital)
Matthew Ashford (Jack Deveraux, Days of our Lives)
Sean Blakemore (Shawn Butler, General Hospital)
Jonathan Jackson (Lucky Spencer, General Hospital)
Jason Thompson (Patrick Drake, General Hospital) ”

Seriously? 4 out of 5 spots went to 1 show? Are you telling me that there were no good supporting actors on the other 4 shows?

      1. All My Children got a nomination, so there are 4 other shows that didn’t get one.

  11. Emmy should look to making history.. Darnell & Debbie are the come back couple which brought excitement back to AMC….

  12. Love Soaps genre they are important to me. Best in Daytime should be honored. Hope GH runs away with awards. Need to save GH!!
