Graham Rogers, Tracy Spiradakos and Anna Lise Phillips have become the first actors cast in the JJ Abrams/Eric Kripke NBC pilot Revolution, a high-octane action drama following a group of characters struggling to survive and reunite with loved ones in a world where all forms of energy have mysteriously ceased to exist. Rogers will play Danny Matheson, a capable, cunning hunter with a good heart. Spiradakos will play Charlie, a warrior. Phillips will play a doctor. Written by Kripke and directed by Jon Favreau, Revolution is executive produced by Abrams, Kripke, Bryan Burk, Kathy Lingg and Athena Wickham through Bad Robot Prods. and Warner Bros. TV Rogers, repped by APA and Dino May, also recently booked a recurring role on the Showtime pilot Ray Donovan.
Elaine Hendrix has been cast opposite Judy Greer in ABC’s single-camera comedy pilot American Judy, which centers on a cosmopolitan woman (Greer) who gets married and becomes a fish out of water in the suburbs having to juggle stepkids, her mother-in-law (Mimi Kennedy) and the ex-wife (Hendrix) of her husband, who also happens to be the town sheriff. Deborah Kaplan and Harry Elfont wrote the pilot, which is produced by ABC Studios. Hendrix, repped by Innovative and McKeon-Myones, recently was a finalist for one of the leads in the new Charlie Sheen comedy series Anger Management.
Rick Gonzalez and Zoe Boyle (Downton Abbey) have joined NBC’s drama pilot Bad Girls. Adapted from the long-running U.K. series, the project, from John Wells Prods. and Warner Bros. TV, follows the ins and outs of a group of unlikely women in a federal prison: a scandalous female warden, her new protégé and a host of inmates — some mothers, some friends — who struggle with loyalties to people on the inside and outside. Gonzalez, repped by Domain and Framework, will play a hot, tattooed ex gang-banger who is now a correctional officer at the women’s prison and the object of lust among the manless female inmates. Boyle, repped by ICM, Seven Summits and UK’s Independent, will play a single mother who takes a job as nurse at the prison.
Glee’s James Earl III and Amanda Crew have been cast in ABC’s untitled Adam Sztykiel comedy pilot, a raw, hilarious peek behind the curtain of modern 20-something relationships. It centers on best friends and roommates Andrew (Nick Kocher) and Oliver (Earl). Crew will play a co-worker of Andrews who is friends both with him and Oliver.
Felisha Terrell has joined Becki Newton and Scott Foley in Fox’s comedy pilot The Goodwin Games, The single-camera comedy from the How I Met Your Mother trio of Carter Bays, Craig Thomas and Chris Harris and The 20th TV, revolves around the three Goodwin siblings — two of them Newton and Foley — who reconnect after the death of their father when he leaves them his fortune — but only if they agree to his terms. Terrell will play the sexy minister of Goodwin family’s church who was once dumped by Henry (Foley).
