Why did he stop making films people wanted to see? Ei Kev?
Chris, I know. He is just not in demand like he used to be . But, Kevin can be proud he acted in some classic films: “Untouchables “, “Field of Dreams “, and “Dances With Wolves.” After hearing Kevin Costner’s witty & moving speech, I have a newfound respect for him.
He’s made or been in some really good movies in the last few years. “Open Range” and “The Upside of Anger” are two that come to mind. I’d also classify “Man of Steel” as a movie people want to see.
I thought he gave a really heartfelt speech here. Well said, Kevin. Thank you for sharing that.
Is Costner eulogizing Whitney Houston or himself?
I’m glad Whitney Houston loved his stories so much. Confusing though.
Eulogies are, more or less, tributes, correct? What’s a better way to pay tribute than with personal stories that meant tons to the person speaking? I’d much rather hear beautiful moments of an interpersonal relationship as opposed to fifteen minutes of constant praise and lamentation.
We need him in films again.

Lovely. A heartfelt, beautiful job Kevin.
Very nice eulogy.
Well done, always has such gravitas.
So so moving. Well done Kevin.
Simply beautiful. Kevin has a way with words.
Actually, Rev. Marvin Winans eulogized the service. Costner was one of the guests.
Thank you so much Kevin. This made me fall in love with Whitney all over again. Bless her
A Happy Ending in such times. Kevin likes a Happy Ending. Cherish this Happy Ending in such times. Whitney will always be with us, Kevin, Bobby will always have a happy ending. God Bless Us All America. Shall You have a happy ending tonight.
Dammit Kevin Costner, you had one job. ONE JOB!
Oh well, I suppose the sequel can be called “The Bodybag”.
Humanized Whitney liked no one else did. The songs, prayers, accodlades by everyone were meaningful and wonderful. But I thought Costner really struck a cord in explaining who Whiteney was to those listening. He was just great. bettheduck
Kevin… Your Light was so Bright today….
Be prepared for an avalanche of offers to start coming your way!!!
Not just because you alwaysvstand up for what is right…
But now you have a Beautiful Angel on the other side…..who is soooo wonderful.
As one who grew up in a baptist church…I loved your stories…..
I hope that she helps with your Golf game too/…..
I will always Love You both!~
Long time .. and you’re still adorable, glad to see you
Very well done Kevin. RIP Whitney.
GREAT JOB, kEVIN
I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU BOTH
A little on the indulgent side.
He says “I” a lot…
Costner’s the man.
Hey he did a great job. That had to be hard on him. Was he perfect “YES” he spoke from the heart.
Mr Costner seemed to spend more time talking about himself at somebody else’s funeral. The guy is so f*cking narcissistic.
No, it’s just that you are too dense to understand. He was talking about stories he told Whitney while they bonded over their church upbringing. He even mentioned that Whitney’s family and friends may have heard those stories (from her).
Next time, you should pay attention and not be such a f*cking narcissist yourself.
He didn’t need to go on and on and on and on about his stories. We didn’t care. We were watching to hear about Whitney and his friendship with Whitney, not about his personal stories growing up in the church. It was way too much. You are clearly a Costner fan and the dense one here.
I am by no means a fan of KC, but you are so very incorrect. Kevin’s stories were appreciated by the family as it showed the commonality of their lives and friendship. He didn’t just carry on about her, he spoke as if he loved her, and gave some well-placed and timed humor in the midst of their grief. I grew up in a Baptist church as well and his stories were a welcome comfort. Coming from that, he was on way point…..
Kevin Costmer, Waterworld
The irony is that he was so ashamed of The Bodyguard pre-release that his face is not visible on the one-sheet. He wanted no association w/ the final product.
No one had any idea of the worldwide hit they had on their hands at the time.
Similar to Bruce Willis and Sixth Sense.
As William Goldman once said about this business we all love: Nobody knows anything.
Just watched DANCES WITH WOLVES on blu-ray. Now that’s a movie. Beautiful. Costner is to be commended.
Yes. Brilliant way with words about himself. The whole thing was about him with a little Whitney peppered in. So odd.
