ASC Unveils Film Cinematography Nominees

The American Society of Cinematographers have announced the feature film nominees for its 26th annual ASC Outstanding Achievement Awards. The winner is to be announced at a ceremony February 12 at Hollywood & Highland. Last year, Wally Pfister won for Inception and went on to take the Oscar as well. This year’s noms:

Guillaume Schiffman
The Artist
Jeff Cronenweth
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo
Robert Richardson
Hoyte van Hoytema
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy
Emmanuel Lubezki
The Tree Of Life

    1. Kaminski is NOT an ASC member. You still CAN be nominated regardless of being a member or not, but I think this could have been a factor. Even so, the other five nominees are excellent choices.

  1. It’s going to Lubezki for Three of Life — bet the farm.

Glad War Horse was left off — cinematography should serve the story, not be the whole package.
