Sunday’s ratings race is too close to call in the fast nationals, but one thing is certain — NFL football will deliver the nightly win for the network that will come up on top in the finals, CBS or NBC. With a primetime overrun from the monster Patriots-Broncos game featuring the match-up between Tim Tebow and Tom Brady and the season finale of Survivor: South Pacific, CBS has a real shot at upstaging NBC’s Sunday Night Football for a No. 1 finish on Sunday for the first time this season. (In the non-time zone adjusted fast nationals, CBS is running slightly ahead of NBC.) CBS’ football overrun pushed the start of the network’s primetime lineup to 7:33 PM. The Survivor finale logged an approximate 4.0/10, running close to last fall’s closer (4.1/11).
SNF’s Chargers-Ravens game posted an 11.3 overnight rating/18 share. That was down 30% from last week’s game and down 27% from last year’s Week 15 game between the Patriots and Packers. ABC ran series and movie reruns (Santa Clause 3, 1.3/3, down 32% from last year’s telecast). Fox aired animated reruns and a the season/series finale of Allen Gregory (1.5/4), which matched its series low.
