PGA Awards TV Noms: 'Modern Family', 'Big Bang', 'Parks & Rec', 'Game Of Thrones', 'Mad Man'

Discord Between PGA And WGA TV Noms

The Producers Guild of America just announced the Television Series nominees for the 23rd Annual Producers Guild Awards. The list includes the usual suspects, last year’s winners Modern Family and Mad Men. In fact, all 5 nominees in the comedy, drama and reality competition series were also nominated in the categories at the Emmy Awards.  But a quirk in the eligibility period, which matches that of the Primetime Emmy Awards (June 1, 2010-May 31, 2011) rendered such acclaimed series as AMC’s Breaking Bad, HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm and Showtime’s new drama Homeland ineligible.

The television nominees, listed below in alphabetical order, are as follows:

The Danny Thomas Award for Outstanding Producer of Episodic Television, Comedy:

“30 Rock” (NBC)

Producers Guild arbitrations for individual producer credit determination for all film and television categories are still underway. All other nominations for the 2012 Producers Guild Award categories will be announced January 3, 2012, along with the individual producers.

All 2012 Producers Guild Award winners will be announced on January 21, 2012 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. This year, the Producers Guild will also award special honors to Steven Spielberg, Leslie Moonves, Don Mischer, and Stan Lee, among others. 1. Haha what a hilarious joke. They misspelled Community with The Big Bang Theory, IASIP with Glee, Breaking Bad with Dexter and Boardwalk Empire with Homeland

    1. I don’t think Breaking Bad was on air during the eligibility period. Didn’t they have a long hiatus last year?

  1. Seems like a long time since an episode of Mad Men aired…more than a year for sure. Isn’t there a time limit for these awards?

  2. There’s a show missing that should be on the list. White Collar is one of the best looking best produced shows on TV. Shoots on a 7 day schedule, on a cable budget, on location on the streets of New York for a fraction of the cost of the others on the list. Great show, highly efficient producing. Not knocking any of the nominees, just questioning the criteria by which nominees are judged.
