Beverly Hills (November 15, 2011) —- United Talent Agency and global property developer and owner Tishman Speyer today announced that UTA, one of the world’s largest talent and literary agencies, is moving its global headquarters. The agency has signed a long-term lease for approximately 120,000 square feet in the 9336-9346 Civic Center Drive complex in Beverly Hills, which will be renamed UTA Plaza. The 191,000 square-foot complex, previously the worldwide headquarters for Hilton Hotels Corporation, comprises two four-story buildings connected by a skybridge with an expansive outdoor plaza. UTA will be the sole tenant of the 9336 building and will also be a primary tenant of the adjoining 9346 building. The two buildings and campus are in the final stages of a comprehensive expansion and renovation, and UTA will begin its own multi-million dollar interior and exterior build-out in early 2012. UTA plans to move its 350 employees into the new building in late 2012.

Tishman Speyer acquired the property earlier this year and immediately began working on renovating and repositioning it as a premier space aimed at the entertainment and media industry.

UTA, currently located in Beverly Hills’ Golden Triangle district, will be the latest entertainment and media company to locate its global headquarters into this developing area of Beverly Hills, which is already home to companies such as Live Nation, YouTube, Netflix, Aol.com and Relativity Media.

“After 20 great years on Wilshire we are excited to have a new campus that will allow for our continued growth and provide an enhanced environment for our colleagues and clients,” said the UTA Board of Directors in a joint statement. “UTA Plaza will offer all the amenities we have been looking for, as well as foster a sense of community for UTA.”

“We are pleased to have attracted UTA, one of the world’s leading entertainment firms, to this property,” said Tishman Speyer Regional Managing Director Mark Laderman. “After less than a year of ownership, UTA Plaza is already well leased, an accomplishment that underscores the appeal of this property as well as the successful development by the City of Beverly Hills of this new entertainment business district.”

UTA has engaged award-winning international architectural and design firm Rottet Studio to build out its new offices, with Rottet principals Richard Riveire, AIA, and Lauren Rottet, FAIA, AIA, leading the project. Rottet is currently designing the agency’s new interior, which will include a state-of-the-art 150+ seat screening room and other amenities. Rottet is also designing UTA’s private outdoor spaces on the campus that will be used for events and entertaining.

“Our goal is to create a space that reflects the unique and dynamic culture of UTA as well as the artistic brilliance of their clients,” said Rottet’s Richard Riveire. “The new space allows us to envision the agency within the context of a larger, more elegant and more technologically advanced interior set against a backdrop of an exciting new area of Beverly Hills. It’s a wonderful canvas on which to work, and Rottet Studio is honored to be entrusted with this project.”

UTA presently occupies 80,000 square feet as the primary tenant of Wilshire Rodeo Plaza at 9560 Wilshire Blvd. The block-long structure, located between Camden and Rodeo Drives, has been the agency’s home since its formation in 1991. Prior to UTA, the building was home to Drexel Burnham Lambert in the 1980s.

UTA was represented in the lease negotiation by its Chief Operating Officer Andrew Thau, Michael DeSantis of Cushman Wakefield in Century City and attorney Andrew Friedman of Friedman & Associates of Beverly Hills.
