EXCLUSIVE: Endgame Entertainment’s James D. Stern has put together the comedy Hot Mess with Selena Gomez in talks to star and Dave Meyers in discussions to direct. Based on the Black List script by Jenni Ross, Hot Mess revolves around four girls desperately trying to avoid becoming the hot messes they are destined to be. Young actresses are mobilizing for the other roles. Stern and Endgame’s Julie Goldstein are producing with Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas and Marisa Yeres. Gomez last starred in Monte Carlo and will next be seen in The Muppets. While Meyers’ first feature was the genre remake The Hitcher, he works in this youth demo as a top video director who has teamed with Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez and Pink and just won a Video Music Award for Katy Perry’s Firework.

love this script! jenni ross is a total comedic genius!!!! yayayayay!
You know what’s a “Hot Mess”? End Game’s development process. Really, they know how to bludgeon a good script into pulp. Elaine or someone else is going to have to bird dog the shit out of this project to protect it from Endgame’s totally screwing it up.
Sadly, so so true. I’ve been in the biz for many years and have had more than a half dozen produced films. Endgame is the single worst development company out there. Their “process” is becoming notorious for taking great material and turning into absolute shit.
Dave Meyers is seriously awesome. Smart to have such a cool music vid director for a film like this.
I read this script and it was HILARIOUS. So glad it’s getting made. Selena is perfect for it!
Wow this project has Cinematic Gold written all over it.
From the director of JLo and Spears music videos comes…
A tweenie chick flick.
Move over Sidney Lumet.
Selena Gomez is the next Elizabeth Taylor. And I challenge anyone to a fistfight who disagrees with me.
Gomez really, I would only hire her at discount. A list name e list stats. They wont pay to see her.
where can i read the script at?
Straight to DVD
My sister had the misfortune of developing her script at endgame. She’s been in the business for 20 years and said this was the worst experience of her professional career. They took her script and had no idea how to improve it, they only knew they wanted to give stupid notes and make changes. so they worked on it for 2 years, she finally got it back and its being made, as is, by a smarter group of producers who recognize a good script hen they have it.
