Is this the news CBS needed to give rookie Unforgettable a back order? After inching down the past few weeks, the freshman procedural last night reversed the ratings trend with a 9% bump in adults 18-49 to a 2.5/6. Its lead-in NCIS: LA (3.3/8, 15.3 million) was flat, while NCIS (3.8/10, 19 million) was down a tenth from last week’s fast national and tied Fox’s The X Factor as the highest-rated program of the night in 18-49. (It won outright in total viewers.) CBS (3.2/8, 15.4 million) was second for the night in 18-49 and No. 1 in total viewers.
In another out-of-pattern airing last night, X Factor (3.8/10), which featured the announcement of finalists who will take part in the live shows, was up 12% from the Sunday telecast and up a tenth from last Thursday’s. Fox (3.8/10, 10.1 million) won the night in 18-49 and finished third in total viewers behind CBS and ABC (2.4/6, 10.7 million).
ABC’s new comedy Man Up (2.4/6) didn’t set the world on fire in its debut but didn’t bomb either. It held onto an OK 80% of its lead-in, Tim Allen’s Last Man Standing (3.0/9), which was down 17% from its impressive series premiere last week. Dancing With The Stars‘ results show (2.6/6) plunged 26% from last week, when it followed the second part of the Last Man Standing premiere to log its lowest-rated fall telecast. On a (little) brighter note, Body Of Proof (1.9/5) at 10 PM was up a tenth. NBC’s The Biggest Loser (1.9/5) and Parenthood (2.0/5) were both down a tenth. Loser logged its lowest-rated fall telecast, while Parenthood tied its season low. CW’s drama Ringer (1.8 million, 0.8/2 in 18-49) was up a tenth in 18-49 from last week’s final (flat with the fast national). In total viewers, the serialized drama starring Sarah Michelle Gellar was up 5%. 90210 dropped a tenth.
