EXCLUSIVE: In a competitive situation with 3 networks bidding, ABC has landed a single-camera comedy starring actress/singer Mandy Moore with a put pilot commitment. The project will be written by Wedding Crashers co-writer Bob Fisher, directed by Shawn Levy and produced by Marty Adelstein and Levy’s 21 Laps/Adelstein in association with 20th Century Fox TV. The untitled half-hour is a single camera family comedy that explores the inherent conflict between the families we grow up in and the families we make. It’s told through the lens of a young, newlywed couple – Annie (played by Mandy Moore) and Ben. Fisher, Levy, Adelstein and Becky Clements are executive producing, with Moore’s manager Jon Leshay producing. This marks the first regular series gig for Moore, who has been busy in features. She is currently in production on Chris Sparling’s Falling Slowly and recently voiced the lead in the Disney animated movie Tangled, with her song, I See The Light, earning an Oscar nomination. On TV, she had a recurring role on ABC’s medical drama Grey’s Anatomy. WME-repped Moore released her most recent album in 2009. Comedy veteran Fisher most recently developed and executive produced the Fox/20th TV comedy series Traffic Light.

Great. Just what tv needs.
Conflict between the families we grow up in and the families we make? Wow. I’ve never seen such a thing — except in very family sitcom ever produced. But this one must be better. It has Mandy Moore.
I love mandy moore! I am so excited even if the show sounds okay!
Saw Mandy in concert at the Ghost Bar atop the Palm Hotel-Casino in Las Vegas. She was also debuting her new clothing line during the Magic Show. She’s definitely a multi-faceted go-getter.
Name drop much?
They were just being specific. Big deal.
Jesus what is ABC’s development budget for comedy this year? This has to be the hundredth comedy pitch they’ve bought and at least ten of the ones reported on this site have been “competetitve bidding situations.” PS: Mandy Moore isn’t bankable.
I’m not saying Mandy Moore isn’t good-looking, I’m just saying Bob Fisher is pretty adorable too. If anyone can make this show real, grounded and yet hilarious, it’s Bob.
Bob Fisher is super funny, super collaborative, has zero ego, and on top of it all is a really nice guy. Very happy for him.
Must get her Tangled co-star Zach Levi for the other lead since Chuck is ending this year!
I will watch anything Mandy does, going back to “A Walk To Remember” all the way to “Tangled.” She is also voicing Rapunzel again in a animated short sequel called “Tangled Ever After” to be shown on The Disney Channel soon. Hopefully that will lead to a theatrical sequel. She’s simply awesome.
Mandy’s on TV regularly!!!!! =) Love her music and some (sorry) of her movies. Cant wait for the series to get to Australia!! =) And when is she going to tour down here with this new TV series on the go?? Guess I just have to take the good with the bad. lol
Mandy rocks! I can’t wait to see it!
This might be the softest package ever assembled.
So who’s next 2 the tracks in all this?
Mandy was seen with a member of Next 2 the Tracks a while back
Must admit she was good in Grey’s Anatomy.
Mandy Moore is cute and sweet but the sitcom is dead as evidenced by the dreck that’s on TV at the moment and the logline for Mandy’s looks no better. Atrocious.
