First family and friends held a small private funeral for Steve Jobs on October 7th. Then there was a bigger private memorial service held at Stanford University, with Bono, Bill Clinton, and Bill Gates among the hundreds who attended. Now come news reports of a private employees-only celebration of Jobs’ life being held today at the Cupertino headquarters. It was announced in an email to Apple staff from CEO Tim Cook who wrote it’s “to take time to remember the incredible things Steve achieved in his life and the many ways he made our world a better place.” The event will be broadcast live inside Apple. As a result, most retail Apple Stores will be closed for several hours beginning at 10 AM PT today. Employees across Asia and Australia will be able to view a re-broadcast of the celebration.
