In yet another competitive situation surrounding a comedy pitch this season, ABC has landed a single-camera comedy to be written by Saturday Night Live alumna Casey Wilson and June Diane Raphael and produced by Sony Pictures TV and Will Gluck’s studio-based company. Titled Walk of Shame, the comedy revolves around a group of twentysomething friends in New York and features an opening scene about an embarrassing situation followed by flashbacks of the events that led to it. Wilson, Raphael and Gluck are executive producing with Paul Schiff, Tai Duncan and Jason Shapiro. Walk of Shame expands Wilson’s relationship with ABC and Sony TV — she co-stars on the ABC/Sony sophomore comedy Happy Endings.
Wilson and Raphael, who met in a clown class at NYU, are long-time writing and stage partners and best friends. They have performed together at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre and co-wrote the feature Bride Wars. This is the second TV sale under the two-year film and TV deal Gluck signed with Sony in May. The first, a mocumentary comedy from Mastermind writers Alan Schoolcraft and Brent Simons, sparked a bidding war, landing at NBC with a pilot production commitment.
