After Sony commandeered May 2, 2014 for an Amazing Spider-Man sequel that hasn’t shot a frame of film, other studios are casting far into the future and staking out weekends on their tent pole films of the future. Lionsgate has set Nov. 22, 2013 as the opening weekend for Catching Fire, the second installment of The Hunger Games trilogy. The first installment of the Gary Ross-directed series comes out March 23, 2012, with Jennifer Lawrence heading the cast.

Disney has dated one of its future but unspecified Marvel movies for May 16, 2014, and another for June 27, 2014. It also dated an unspecified Pixar film for May 30, 2014, an untitled 3D film by Henry Selick for Oct. 4, 2013 and The Odd Life of Timothy Green for Aug. 15, 2012. The studio isn’t saying yet which Marvel movies will claim those dates. So far, Avengers is dated for May 4, 2012, Iron Man 3 is May 3, 2013, and Thor 2 is July 26, 2013.
