This is the highest level arrest that British police have made so far in their investigation of phone hacking and police bribery at Rupert Murdoch’s News International. Brooks was editor of News Of The World during the years when most of the defunct newspaper’s known phone hacking took place — and was CEO of Rupert Murdoch’s News International until she resigned last week. On Tuesday she’s scheduled to testify at a parliamentary hearing where she’ll be joined by Murdoch and his son James who’s News Corp’s Deputy COO.
