EXCLUSIVE: Ridley and Tony Scott’s Scott Free Prods, which has been a player in scripted television, most recently with acclaimed CBS drama The Good Wife, is strengthening its commitment to unscripted TV by signing a new two-year deal with Mary Lisio ro serve as SVP of non-fiction and branded entertainment. Lisio oversees all non-scripted projects at the company, most recently shepherding the special Gettysburg for History. Sam Rockwell, who co-starred in Ridley Scott’s Matchstick Man, has come on board to narrate the two-hour special, which will premiere May 30. It kicks off a four-year initiative by History to commemorate the Civil War’s upcoming 150th anniversary.
In addition to Gettysburg, Lisio also has overseen Scott Free’s Prophets of Science Fiction, which will premiere on Science Channel late this year, and History’s The Real Robin Hood, which aired in conjunction with the release of Ridley Scott’s feature Robin Hood. Lisio works closely with Scott Free TV President David Zucker and the company’s principals Tony and Ridley Scott. On the branded side, Lisio worked with RSA on last summer’s Bud House World Cup online reality series and the online docu-series Quest for G with Gatorade/TBWA/Chiat/Day. She also serves as an executive producer on the Character Project, a series of short films for USA Network that launch Sunday. Prior to joining Scott Free, Lisio worked at RJ Cutler’s Actual Reality Pictures, overseeing the development of reality series, including 30 Days (FX), Flip That House (TLC), Greatest American Dog (CBS), Facebook Diaries (Facebook/Comcast Digital), Bound for Glory (ESPN), and Black.White (FX), as well as the feature documentary The September Issue.
