Madchen Amick has landed the female lead in Stephan Gaghan’s NBC drama pilot S.I.L.A., a complex drama in the vein of Traffic set in the world of crime, law enforcement and politics in modern-day Los Angeles. Amick, repped by Gersh and KW Entertainment, will play Mary, who came from a blue-collar background to become a successful Century City lawyer.
Kelli Garner (My Generation) is set to co-star opposite Christina Ricci in ABC’s drama pilot Pan Am, a sexy soap set against the Jet Age about a group of pilots and flight attendants working at Pan Am Airlines in the 1960s. Garner, repped by CAA and John Carrabino, will play Kate, a well-educated, sharply intelligent and tri-lingual stewardess who is also a bit of a rebel.
Brian Hallisay has joined CW’s zombie thriller Awakening. The project, from WBTV and Reveille, is about two sisters, Jenna (Lucy Griffiths) and Jayce (Meredith Hagner) coming of age and facing off against one another amidst the beginning of a zombie uprising. Hallisay, repped by the Kohner Agency and Untitled, will play Jenna’s Calvin Klein-handsome boyfriend.

I read a review of the pilot script that said it was a great script.
That’s nice, Timmy. Three shows are mentioned. Just keep us in suspense. Sheesh.
Hey, I like Brian a lot…and CW totally missed the boat cancelling Privileged. He can’t be the primary (only) male star here, opposite two total unknowns…that’s asking him to carry too much. But he is a great supporting player, and I’m glad to see him back on The CW. His chemistry with Joanna Garcia was off the charts. Another case of the network not realizing what a gem it had.
Which one of the three are you referring to?
Every time I glance at these actresses being cast in pilots I think of how much pretty much every one of them would be better Wonder Woman than the girl who was cast…
Adrianne Palicki is an extraordinary actress. Friday Nights Lights and Lone Star are great examples. It’s David E Kelleys script that is bad.
Madchen Amick finally back on TV, will look forward to seeing her on the boob tube. She is a beauty and was my favorite of the “Twin Peaks” babes.
Yawn – more white actors cast in tv pilots – when will the TV Networks cast some lead roles with actors who look like the rest of America?
Hey Pistol, do you even read Deadline? There are TWO pilots with Af-Am female leads, ONE pilot with an Af-Am male lead, and ANOTHER pilot with prominent Af-Am cast members. Plus there’s a comedy pilot with a Latino character actor in it. The real question with all this minority action is if any of these pilots will get picked up to series. Enough with the moaning already. I’m BLACK and sick of it for God’s sakes. And I don’t even work in the industry!
Congrats. You win the award for the dumbest posting I’ve ever seen.
I read reviews of the SILA pilot that said it was great.
That’s great to see Brian Hallisay again ! I agree that Privileged was such a great show!! I want to see Ashley Newbrough aka sage baker back on tv! I loved her and Lucy Hale!
You want actors cast that “look like the rest of America”?
Dude, I was at the DMV today, and saw what “the rest of America” looks like. I don’t think you want that. Not pretty…
Zombies! Oh boy! Yawn!!!! Just bring back The Partridge Family if you can’t think up new stuff! And so happy more Brits and Aussies get to do bad American accents, but we just can’t cast actors in America to do British… that would be… well… I think it’s called “acting”… Same rehashed names! Too bad!
Yay for Madchen! Such a cutie.
Glad Madchen is back. She is a great actress. Wish she was in more and that they would not get canned. I love her dearly, she is my cuz.
