EXCLUSIVE: Jesse Metcalfe has landed the role of Bobby and Pam Ewing’s adopted son Christopher on TNT’s Dallas, with Veronica Mars alumna Julie Gonzalo also landing a lead role in the pilot. Metcalfe was one of the two finalists for the role of Christopher, along with Alex Russell.
The updated Dallas, from Cane creator Cynthia Cidre and Warner Horizon, centers on the offspring of bitter rivals and brothers J.R. and Bobby Ewing – J.R.’s son, John Ross (Josh Henderson) and his cousin Christopher (Metcalfe) – who clash over the future of the Ewing dynasty while the fate of Southfork itself weighs in the balance. Gonzalo will play Rebecca, Christopher’s fiancee. Also set for the pilot are original Dallas stars Larry Hagman as J.R., Patrick Duffy as Bobby and Linda Gray as Sue Ellen, as well as Jordana Brewster as Elena, who is locked into a love triangle with Christopher and John. Michael M. Robin is directing.
Gonzalo, repped by UTA and Kritzer Levine Wilkins Griffin, co-starred on ABC’s Eli Stone. Desperate Housewives alum Metcalfe, repped by Gersh and Untitled, has co-starred on NBC’s Chase this season.
Jesse Metcalfe?? Really Warner Brothers?? He’s a nice guy but don’t think he is a great actor! There were much stronger choices but whatever.
Were Patrick Duffy and Victoria Principal “great” actors? Not necessarily. But they were attractive and charming and played their roles well. I think Metcalfe will do just fine.

The show takes place in Dallas and the creators have chosen to compleletly avoid casting any Hispanics!? And Julie GANZALO doesn’t count.
Why doesn’t she count? Julie Gonzalo is from Argentina (A South American Country). Jordana Brewster was born in Panama and is half Brazilian.

Jesse Metcalfe AND Josh Henderson? This show is turning into a cheesy washed-up Desperate Housewives reunion. Gross. I was expecting hot, fresh, new faces.
I wanted Jesse for this role and he got it.
I have no comment about Dallas, but does this mean “Chase” will be cancelled? I sure hope not, it’s a decent show that seems to improve week after week.

Well, maybe it is for the best. Metcalfe belongs on Dallas. Show will suck anyway. Lucky for Alex Russell that he got skipped for this soon to be stinker…Kid has a great American accent, and will show up somewhere else soon.
Why don’t they jsut cancel it now and save millions of dollars
It’s Melrose Place 2.0 sequel. With pairing old original cast with empty, just pretty face new actors. Let’s take a bet how much episodes this stuff will air before it will be canceled due to low ratings.
What happens if the pilot is picked up as a series? Does anyone know if Hagman, Duffy, Gray will be in a series, or is this a one-time appearance for them in the pilot?

I think the casting is sexy…big fan of Jesse Metcalfe and Jordana Brewster…Josh Henderson looks like he could be cool…definitely a great looking and interesting new generation…
“Dallas” was never Shakespeare, folks. It’s nothing more than a night time soap w/ eye candy actors. Which was fine in 1980 & it’s fine now. Sounds like nostalgic, bitchy fun.
Does anyone know when the pilot might be on air? Or when the pilots on TNT usually are getting aired – in spring, summer or autum?
I heard it’s ready for either the summer or fall.
Since it’s airing on TNT and summer is their specialty I think they’d be better off airing it in the summertime.
Metcalfe is not a good fit for Dallas with all of those ugly tattoos. The Ewings are a conservative bunch. A tattooed Ewing will run away us older viewers. Sorry.
