Oscars Add Best Actress Candidate Annette Bening As Presenter

Beverly Hills, CA – Academy Award®-nominated actress Annette Bening will be a presenter at the 83rd Academy Awards ceremony, telecast producers Bruce Cohen and Don Mischer announced today.

Bening, who is an Academy governor, recently received her fourth Oscar® nomination, for her leading role in “The Kids Are All Right.” She received her first nomination for her supporting role in “The Grifters” (1990) and received nominations for her leading roles in “American Beauty” (1999) and “Being Julia” (2004). Her other film credits include “The Women,” “Open Range,” “In Dreams,” “Richard III” and “Regarding Henry.”

  1. Annette Bening deserves to be on stage. She is a gifted actress, but as in the past…it looks like she may not win again.

Someday, I hope she does win an Oscar as her acting has been worthy many times.

  2. We all know it’s Natalie Portman’s Year. But she’s a gifted actress and a bright woman and hopefully she will get a statue someday.

  3. I absolutely respect Annette Bening , but I loathe her award speeches with a passion- she comes across like a robot with no heart and soul and colder than ice. This may be a reason she hasn’t won the Oscar.

Recently, even, the tough and unpredictable Christian Bale has given heartfelt award speeches with charisma , sincerity, and intelligence.

  4. I don’t think Annette Bening is that great an actress-she is much overrated and only gets parts (which isn’t that often) and recognition because of her association with Warreb Beatty who is so much older than she. Both are has beens and should step aside for the newer talentscoming to the screen!
