Ray Drecker is getting new love and some competition. Stephen Amell (Vampire Diaries) has been cast in a recurring role on the upcoming third season of HBO’s comedy series Hung. He will play Jason, a rival gigolo of Ray Drecker (Thomas Jane) who is described as super sexy with a good physique and possessing a sweetness to him that makes him very charismatic. Amell, who just signed on to star as Joran van der Sloot in the Lifetime movie Justice for Natalee, is with SMS and Leverage. Leven Rambin (Grey’s Anatomy) also is joining Hung‘s upcoming season as a recurring, playing a new love interest for Ray. The actress, repped by the Schiff Co. is already recurring on 3 other series, CW’s One Tree Hill, CBS’ CSI: Miami and Disney Channel’s Wizards of Waverly Place.
Heather Lind has joined another HBO series as a recurring, period drama Boardwalk Empire. On the prohibition-era saga, she will play Katy, a maid. Lind, repped by ICM and Troy Nankin, just wrapped her run opposite Al Pacino in the Broadway production of The Merchant of Venice.

Ammel is HOT. Great addition to Hung, I love Thomas Jane and Jane Adams.
Boardwalk Empire is the best show on tv. There’s a reason why it has won so many awards including the Screen Actors Guild.
I agree with you, Peter. Th writing became great toward the middle of the season.
That’s when I turned off the show. After the stupid episodes 6 and 7. All momentum and character was blown there.
Really?Leven Rambin as his love interest?Isn’t she still playing teens? She sure looks like one. She’s about the same age as the actors playing his kids.
Boardwalk Empire needs some interesting women…let’s hope Heather Lind’s character accomplishes this.
tom, you’re right although KellyMcDonald’s and Gretchen Mol’s characters became more interesting as the season progressed. But, Kelly was the only one considering Gretchen didn’t get much screentime.
Boardwalk is like the Spruce Goose. As for women on Boardwalk it’s disgusting the way they wrote them into a corner as the season progressed. No formidable women on Boardwalk except Mol’s character. Margaret made no emotional sense as the season went on. Every woman is discovered by the man in her life to be a lying whore. It’s kind of amazing that HBO let the show be so ugly in this way.
So glad HUNG is back for a third season, and it looks like they’re adding some hot, young blood to the show!
Leven is a hot addition but does seem a little young for Ray. Maybe she’s a highschool student or friend of his kids?
TVLine.com reports that Leven Rambin will be playing a former student of “Mr.Drecker’s”, who he encounters in an “awkward” situation. She is very talented and beautiful, I’m happy to see her doing so well.
I was so disappointed by the writing of the female characters on Boardwalk. They had a promising start and then went to demeaning places. The show has a sadistic streak towards the female characters that is extremely disturbing. I no longer watch the show and neither do many of my friends. Who needs to see that?
Can’t wait for the HUNG marathon! It’s one of those zeitgeist shows you get all excited about, get all your friends and laugh and laugh. It’s a blast. I visited my brother at Penn a couple weeks ago and everyone plans their nights around HUNG. My brother plays lacrosse, he’s a starting Middy, and after practice all his team mates rush back to the dorms to get ready for good entertainment. HBO has its finger on pulse of young America. All I can say is, we’re all hooked on HUNG.
I can’t wait for the new season where Ray Drecker goes all limp dick and has a total emotional breakdown and now has to live in an old cardboard box, until one night he catches the movie, ZAPPED on Turner Classics and low and behold he gets a chubby, and now Ray Drecker is back. Back with a vengeance. I mean, the man’s got two god ugly kids to feed and those kids eat like boars, but guess what? Ray’s back, and not only is he back, Ray Drecker is humongous.
I agree with you about the women on Boardwalk. Maybe they should add a tough-as-nails female prosecutor, or a spunky, no-nonsense nurse. Or just re-cast Buscemi and half of the male characters with the ladies from Desperate Housewives. That would make perfect sense in the 1920s, which as everyone knows, was the age of empowerment for women.
Gladys sounds a little too defensive. Mad Men allows the female caracters to have a pov, an inner life and goals to succeed. Boardwalk’s female characters are only there to serve the men in sick ways. Not one exists in there own world. It’s a choice of the Creator/writers to depict the women this way. It’s their POV of women imposed on these characters. I’m sure we will be seeing the nubile maid naked being hurt physically with a broom. As that is what all women in the 1920’s deserve according to this show. Cause as Gladys says “It makes perfect sense.”
It’s how the show chooses to depict these women that the comment board is referring too. Women on Boardwalk all show their V and work to please men as a their only means of survival. They have no dramatic purpose in the show otherwise. There is not one female character with her own storyline.
Not all women existed to please men in 1920. Some women got jobs, went to work every day and didn’t lie on their backs. But that’s how Boardwalk decides to tell the story of women in the 20’s.
I would love to see some powerful women of the time. My great grandmother was a successful psychic during this time period. Maybe a little bruha fortuneteller would be fun to see. Or a woman casino owner who everyone thought was a man or something mysterious. They act like there were no gay characters in this time period. Maybe a female doctor(there were some) or someone who was more than a mom or whore. Women worked in this period in more jobs than they have listed.
Hope we see the wide array of working women in this period. Seeing nothing but mistresses
and french shop owners is not accurate.
So happy that Levin has found so many great projects outside of Daytime! Thanks for the info!
I’m sick of people bitching about HBO. The HBO brass knows what they’re doing, look at what they’ve accomplished: The Sopranos, The Wire, Sex In the City, Entourage, Six Feet Under, Taxi Cap Confessions… Oh, that was another duo who accomplished that… But hey, Sue and Michael did give us HUNG! And no one can ever take that way from them. And Heather Lind was a good add on, can’t wait to see her vagina.

Leven looked so hot on CSI: MIAMI this past Sunday! I’m sure she’ll rock HUNG.
I guess the little maid will have to be completely naked as she does her job to stay vital on the perverted and twisted Boardwalk Empire.
I’m quite sure you had no problem with all the gratuitous male nudity in “Oz”, though, did you?
Im commenting on what poppy said: i agree that leven looked beautiful on csi: miami last week but, her performance was lame. Of course id be nervous 2 but, I would have wanted to do more to make a first impression ryan wolfe. He`s HOT!!! I absolutely love him!
