After almost 25 years as a lit agent, Bob Gumer is retiring effective immediately and is taking a teaching gig at Pepperdine University. For the past 3 years, Gumer was at APA, serving as SVP in the TV lit department. Before that, he spent 14 years at Kaplan-Stahler (then Kaplan-Stahler-Gumer-Braun), including a long tenure as a president of the boutique lit agency. Prior to that, Gumer was at ICM for 7 years. He has represented such clients as Farscape creator Rockne S. O’Bannon, former Mad TV exec producer Dick Blasucci and Angel co-creator David Greenwalt. Gumer’s resume also includes stints as an entertainment attorney, a business affairs executive and a comedy development executive at Columbia Pictures TV.
