EXCLUSIVE: Fox’s proposed Bones spinoff is starting to take shape with the first casting. And it’s a big one… literally. Michael Clarke Duncan has been tapped to co-star in the project, which will be introduced in Episode 19 this season. The spinoff, based on The Locator books written by Richard Greener, centers on Walter Sherman aka “the Locator” (the role is still being cast), a former military policeman who can find anything. Duncan will play Walter’s partner Leo, a tough, raw-hide cowboy philosopher. This marks the first regular TV gig for Duncan, repped by APA and Industry, who best known for his Oscar-nominated role in The Green Mile.

GREAT CASTING. He is such a character, funny, tough, and who doesn’t have love for him from the GREEN MILE.
A TV series based on one author’s book series spun off from a TV series based on the life of the author of another book series. That has to be a first.
Spin-offs should be reserved for shows that don’t huddle around their network’s average. Bones is barely getting a 2.5 in the 18-49 demo. Why is this a good idea?
Maybe ratings are lower because they keep pre-empting it for that “American Idol.” Don’t know why that happens; find it very annoying in our house.
Perhaps they should’ve left it on Tuesday night, now it’s against Grey’s Bones!which we watch on-demand instead of giving up
Awesome! I loved him in The Green Mile! I hope this is a hit and is as good as Bones once was..and can be again…once they get the Blonde Chemestry Killer out of there!
Looking forward to it!
Love Michael Clarke Duncan, but most people watch Bones for the Bones/Booth interactions (shippers and nonshippers) and this spinoff is going to fail.
i agree with you. The whole point of Bones is the interaction between Brennan and Booth!
YAY Love MCD!
Always a kind, considerate gentleman.
God, this is lame. Seriously, is there anybody out there who thinks BONES deserves a spinoff?
It’s been on for years, sure, but it’s not a hit. Best case scenario, it does the same number as Bones.
Way to be brave Fox.
Great! I really like this guy, but don’t seem to see enough of him.
hmmm… another movie actor moves to TV.
wow didnt jake jim osborne very long to bring in his first commission…
Even Fox execs (and the series own writers) don’t like Bones…
But they all like those idiots who tune in for it.
I intended to stop watching Bones because of the show becoming a little to preachy and them turning Bones from a gun packin martial arts master into a wuss that gets beaten up by an untrained doctor (last season). Now though with jewels like the finder I will probably continue watching for a little while. I will watch the spinoff especially with MC Duncan.
