Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane has been tapped as roast master for the Comedy Central Roast of David Hasselhoff, which tapes at Sony Studios in Los Angeles on August 1 for an August 15 premiere on the cable network. Meanwhile, Nickelodeon has greenlit a new series from Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, creators of the animated TV show Avatar: The Last Airbender. The new series The Legend of Korra (working title), will premiere in 2011. It takes place 70 years after the events of Avatar: The Last Airbender and follows the adventures of the Avatar after Aang – a passionate, rebellious, and fearless teenaged girl from the Southern Water Tribe named Korra. The original series was the inspiration for the Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies live-action adventure, The Last Airbender, which has grossed more than $115 million at the box office to date.
