Richard Dreyfuss has joined Showtime’s Weeds as a recurring. In at least 4 episodes of the dark comedy’s upcoming 6th season, he will play what the network describes as “an unexpected character from Nancy Botwin’s past.” Season 6 of Weeds, which premieres on August 16, features Nancy (Mary-Louise Parker) and family on the lam after Shane (Alexander Gould) bopped Mexican VIP Pilar to death with a croquet mallet. Dreyfuss joins previously announced guest stars for next season Linda Hamilton, Peter Stormare, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, as well as returning guest stars Alanis Morissette and Jennifer Jason Leigh. Oscar winner Dreyfuss made his full-time series debut with CBS’ The Education of Max Bickford. On Showtime, he previously starred as Alexander Haig in the 2002 docudrama The Day Reagan Was Shot.

Weeds sounds like it’s written by writers who never smoked pot in their life. Not genuine.
agreed
Will he be playing Matt Hooper again?
Seriously Nellie you need to start putting “Spoiler Alert” warnings on your posts. First Dexter, now Weeds. If its too much work on your part to actually type the words, please feel free to copy and paste from my comment.
Who thought this was a good idea?
Me!
Jeeze…. For people that act like they smoke pot most of you are the biggest cynics I ever heard speak about an awesome show. People like fiction, it is interesting and entertaining. Most potheads don’t critique things this much, maybe the former people posting just need a blunt.
I just finished Season 6 via Netflix. Richard Dreyfuss’ performance was amazing. What a great character actor.
I love this show because the writing is top notch and the characters are compelling. Who cares if it’s “genuine” or not?
