Chaos creator Tom Spezialy is getting another shot at CBS. In the aftermath of the implosion of the CBS/20th Century Fox TV deal for a midseason order to Chaos last week, the network has inked a blind script pact with Spezialy for a new project. But this time, the project is set up at CBS TV Studios.

After five weeks of negotiations between CBS and Chaos producer 20th TV, the CIA drama pilot directed by Brett Ratner was on the verge of a 13-episode order before the deal collapsed when the options on the actors were allowed to expired last week after the two not-vertically-integrated companies couldn’t agree on terms. CBS, which has expressed faith in Spezialy, is looking to avoid such a scenario this time by setting Spezialy’s new show at its sister studio. Ironically, Chaos too came out of a blind script deal Spezialy had at 20th TV last season.
