CBS is under a bedbug attack! And no, this is not a protest action organized by supporters of recently dismissed Criminal Minds co-star A.J. Cook. A day ago I received a disturbing account of a “mass infestation of bedbugs” in CBS’ New York offices. “Work has come to a screeching halt as employees are in panic mode,” the person wrote. It turns out the situation is far less dramatic but still amusing: a couple of leased-out floors in satellite CBS offices in New York housing internal audit and CBS syndication sales executives have been affected by what a CBS representative described as “mild cases” of bedbug infestation. Professionals have been called in and the offices are being cleaned.

There is no such thing as “a mild bedbug problem.” If one bedbug gets on the cuff of your pants and you take him home, he has 5,000 brothers and sisters a week later. They eat your legs alive while you sleep, then go and – I’m serious – hide in your electronics and the electrical sockets. And they are out -of-control because the government banned DDT, the ONLY thing that kills them. Toronto and New York are totally awash in bedbugs. Most of the major hotels have been quietly closing one-floor-at-a-time and gassing the little buggers.
That is a nightmare. I’m reluctant to even watch CBS until the whole place has been fumigated. There was a large bedbug (small bugs, but widespread problem) at NYC hotels a few years ago. There was a lot of advice posted online about how to avoid bringing those bugs home. Not sure if works, but I’d recommend using DEET at the office and minimizing bringing stuff home from the office. You do not want those bugs investing your home or apartment.
I’m pretty sure you cannot get bedbugs from watching CBS.
Diatomaceous Earth (google it) kills bedbugs. I lived with them for about a year until i wrapped my mattress and put diatomaceous earth all over the room. Like I said, google it. It worked for me.
It doesn’t kill them overnight. You have to be persistent and thorough, and the bugs can hide out. They can go 18 months without a blood feast, if they have to. Or they might go on the march and visit your neighbors.
This is true it not easy. I work in a school and kid have them. You have to put your stuff in bags and when you come home put them in bags and wash them and put them in the dryer. This is no joke and it is very stressful.
Next season all their cop show franchises will be replaced by bug exterminator franchises…
A plague upon their houses for the Criminal Minds fiasco.
I agree totally….
That’s not even funny :(
THOSE AREN’T BEDBUGS THEY’RE (CRABS) FROM SUMNER REDSTONE WHICH HE ACQUIRED FROM ONE OF HIS 20 YEAR OLD GIRL FRIENDS.
Now THAT’S FUNNY!
Why would CBS have beds in their offices?
Bedbugs don’t have to live in beds. Chair cushions, window treatments, carpets, electrical boxes, etc.
Makes it easier to sleep your way to the top.
Well, that’s what they deserve for cancelling Jericho!!! Ha ha! Too bad it’s not Les Moonves and Nina Tassler’s city!
Yikes! Same thing happened to the Hollister store in SoHo.
Sounds like somebody went shopping at Hollister: http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-504763_162-20009537-10391704.html
Bedbugs are nocturnal. So who’s sleeping in the office overnight to be attacked by them?
Exactly. They only come out late at night. so are there are people sleeping in their offices? It’s pretty insane here in nyc. I am constantly hearing stories about them..and it’s true, it seems that they don’t die.
Pregnant bedbugs have ravenous appetites and are the most likely to hitchhike. They don’t “only” come out at night, but they prefer to feed undisturbed, usually around dawn. As someone else pointed out, bedbugs crawl into laptops and sockets. They grab onto your clothes. Rumor has it, they live on the A/C line, which services JFK airport and stops in Bushwick (a hotbed of activity) at Broadway Junction.
They only come out at night, The Lean and Hungry type, Nothing is new I’ve seen this here before, watching and waiting, there sitting with you but their eyes are on the door. CBS= Crappy Bull Sticks.
Bed bugs prefer to feed at night when you are sleeping and the room is dark.
However, if that is not possible, they WILL bite you in broad daylight or a well-lit room, while you sit in a chair. Bed bug infestations in the workplace are well-known.
It’s all a misunderstanding, the bloodsuckers aren’t bedbugs, they’re visiting agents.
Best line this thread! :)
It is stories like these that make me love Deadline so much.
learn the facts about bed bug elimination and the use of Vikane fumigation at http://www.bedbugsandbeyond.com the only bed bug elimination consulting firm who provides local licensed fumigators in your area.
Don’t kid yourself, every major city in North America is infested with them. Chances are, most of those working at CBS have taken them home, as well. When I travel, I check the corners of beds and box springs and behind the bed if I can. Look for dark droppings. You can’t see them in the day but you can see their feces.
It takes multiple fumigation attempts and washings of clothes and linens to get rid of them. If someone moves from an infested apartment, they just migrate to the next warm body.
These are really frightening critters.
Revenge of the bedbugs. They too don’t like what has happened to AJ Cook and Paget Brewster.
Buahahahahahahaha!!

Nellie:
I thought you were better than this.
Just the female bugs are terminated
I work for Ehrlich Pest Control. One of the most effective ways to kill bed bugs on small personal items is to freeze them or heat them. Either leave belongings in a hot car (day like today is perfect) or place them in a freezer overnight. Larger infestations should be handled by professionals. Many people unknowingly spread bedbugs when changing linens, etc. For more information on bed bugs, how to recognize a bed bug bite, etc. visit http://www.jcehrlich.com/commercial-customers/pest-problems/bedbugs-and-biting-insects/index.html.
This is not true. Bedbugs can be killed by steam over 120 degrees, but just plain heat won’t kill them. They originated in the Middle East and have been around thousands of years! Cold is also dicey, because they have to have fed enough to explode in below freezing temperatures. Then, there’s the eggs. A females lays five a day and hundreds in her lifetime.
Everyone who laughs, makes a stupid joke or in some way makes light of this… I truly hope you are next to get them. That will shut you up really fast. The shocking lack of education about this in these comments is tragic.
Have they invaded the White House and the Capital Builing yet?
One can only hope.
Hi NELLIE ANDREEVA,
I want to told you every major city in North America is infested with them. Chances are, most of those working at CBS have taken them home, as well. When I travel, I check the corners of beds and box springs and behind the bed if I can.
