Former Sony Pictures TV senior marketing executive Alan Daniels is in talks to rejoin the studio as a consultant in the wake of the abrupt exit last week of marketing president Bob Oswaks. Daniels, a 20-plus Sony TV veteran, served as SVP of marketing at SPT under Oswaks until he departed in the first wave of layoffs at Sony Pictures Entertainment last year. Because of his intimate knowledge of Sony TV’s marketing operations, Daniels was approached about the consulting gig immediately after Oswaks’ departure and is expected to have a significant role in Sony TV’s marketing department while the studio may look for a permanent marketing chief replacement.
