United TalentEXCLUSIVE: — I’ve just learned that Jay Sures and Tracey Jacobs at UTA have signed Darren Star, who’s got a first-look deal at HBO and is developing a show there but also wants to make the transition to feature films. (Star and Jacobs have had a 20-year friendship.) Star was long repped by Aaron Kaplan and Jim Wiatt at the old William Morris Agency. Neither tenpercenter lasted through the merger, and Aaron still works closely with Darren. At WME, Star was repped by George Freeman and Nancy Josephson — until today. Darren, of course, is responsible for Beverly Hills 90210, Melrose Place, Sex And The City, as well as the short-lived network series Central Park West and Grosse Pointe.
