EXCLUSIVE: I’ve learned that Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, an agent in CAA’s film finance department, is leaving to run a new company that is about to be unveiled by IM Global’s Stuart Ford and Alliance Communications’ Charles Layton. The venture doesn’t have a name, but it will produce and finance mainstream films with budgets up to $30 million. I’m hearing that Kavanaugh-Jones will likely leave by the end of the month. His exit appears to be amicable, with CAA repping the new company.
