Are young actors taking over the big screen? Max Irons, son of Jeremy Irons, has been set to star with Amanda Seyfried and Shiloh Fernandez in The Girl with the Red Riding Hood, the Warner Bros action film that will be directed by Twilight‘s Catherine Hardwicke. Julie Christie and Gary Oldman also appear. Irons has been nominated for an Ian Charleson Award in the UK – the award celebrates outstanding new talent in the theatre. He’s repped by UTA and UK-based Tavistock Wood.

Dear Hollywood,
Please stop putting Sam Worthington in the lead in tentpole movies.
Thanks.
Hey that’s the way to go. Cheaper, they’re hungrier, hard working, and you can lock them into good deals for multiple pictures (for franchises). I say smart move on the behalf of the exec’s. Some real good talent out there that just needs a shot. Wanna see how Sam Claflin turns out in “Pirates 4.” Also check out Sam Riley. Very curious to see in next 2-3 years who will be the next BIG stars. Where’s the next Julia, Tom’s, Will, Depp ..
I saw two young talents that I think might be headed somewhere (we’ll see, never know) they’re in this movie “Revenge” …I saw the trailer on whatisyourrevenge . com … guess we’ll see how that turns out… I wish Max Irons all the best! This is a big opportunity…
Who wouldn’t want to work with Hardwicke? She only lost the greatest franchise since Star Wars.
hardwicke loosing (or leaving) the twilight franchise is most likely the best thing that ever happened to her. chris weitz will have a hard time living down new moon. and her twilight editor just got hauled in to fix twilight 3.
either way, twilight 2 is far worse than the phantom menace (which is one of the worse sci-fi/fantasy films i’ve ever seen). and the first twilight film is a classic teen movie. new moon is a homoerotic movie.
hardwicke did something that nobody since has been able to do, trick people into making poeple think robert pattinson is attractive.
@ Dudette: Are you kidding? Both Twilight and New Moon made to the box-office because of the novels, not the directors. They will be succeeded even if they were directed by Ed Wood himself (God rest his soul). Hardwicke had nothing to do with it. Let’s see if this “The Girl with the Red Riding Hood” will be good which I doubt it. I have the feeling that Eclipse will be more interesting to watch.
She gave it up because she couldn’t maintain her standards and still make the schedule the studio was demanding. I respect her for that.
If this is the same Irons-spawn who was in Danny, the Champion of the World, I had a crush on him when I was 7.
I wasn’t a huge fan of Thirteen, but like LoD and having recently read the first Twilight novel, I am astonished at how she she turned that book’s rather spurious aspects into a depiction of the pre-sexual fantasies of the female. In any case, I applaud Catherine Hardwicke for showcasing young womens’ inner lives in her films.
Duh… Everyone that actually works in this biz knows that Catherine Hardwicke was kicked off Twilight for not getting along with the Editor – she did not decide to leave – she was forced out.
He’s much better looking than his Dad. Hope he’s a better actor as well.
Give me a break. The only reason he’s in this movie is because of his father. Is there any room in Hollywood for non-relative’s to become actors and be given an equal chance? Seriously, can we get a law passed here? Now, we have to deal with Jack Nicholson’s daughter. Just cause you’re related doesn’t mean you’re automatically great.
What do you think Mike? This is the OLDEST (pun intended) story in the book of Hollyweird.
