This was such a busy news week I didn’t get a chance to gloat that my November 16th exclusive finally was announced: Six Feet Under producer David Janollari was hired as MTV’s EVP of scripted development. MTV clearly felt it needed an experienced exec — i.e. a grown-up — to help straighten out its ratings-challenged entertainment mess. Given the current crap on MTV, Janollari certainly couldn’t program worse. TV producer Janollari was The WB’s Entertainment President and before that head of comedy development under then Warner Bros TV prez Les Moonves. Janollari will oversee the development of comedies and dramas and report to MTV programming prez Tony DiSanto.
