She may have just locked down a reprisal of her role as Mother Focker for Universal (or now technically Grandmother Focker) along with the rest of the cast. But Barbra Streisand is also going back to her singing roots by performing at New York’s Village Vanguard Club on September 26th as a promotion for the release of her new CD of jazz standards and classics, “Love Is The Answer”. A hundred of her fans will see her for free at the Vanguard — where she last performed in 1961 as the opening act for Miles Davis at a time when it was the epicenter of the NYC jazz scene — if they pre-order the CD or register an entry blank free of charge.
