par’s advantage without vantage
The pompous incompetent John Lesher should never have been invited to run Paramount. Studios need people that know how to make money, not self important assholes that can’t make money for their bosses.
VERY IMPORTANT: Brad Grey and Adam Goodman should fire a second layer of marketing and especially publicity followers of Lesher, otherwise they will UNDERMINED both Grey and Goodman.
P.S. Brad Grey and Adam Goodman be courageous and bring in new blood.
Great job Arthur!
Looks like Lesher, except not enough wrinkles.
this is just wrong……you should be ashamed of yourself Nikke.
whatever respect I had for you…just went down the drain. Have a horrible 4th weekend
I expect to see Adam Goodman’s head on a platter next! Spielberg, Snider and Co. elected to ditch Goodman before moving on, so what does Grey do with Spielberg’s lefotvers? No wonder Paramount can’t get it together. Goodman > Lesher? LOL
Dunno what to say on ths one…
These are the worst things ever. Please make them stop.
OK, I’ve held my tongue but it is clear that these editorial cartoons just aren’t going anywhere. The concepts are obvious and the artwork conveys no additional emotion.
Here’s my idea. Arthur can draw, there’s no doubt about that. But why not do a strip instead, something like Dilbert as a clueless studio exec or agent? Plenty of hilarious scenarios could be imagined, many based on current events.
As they are, these cartoons could easily be replaced with a far less work-intensive sentence like: Yes, There Will Be Blood — heads are rolling at Paramount!
See, I didn’t need to draw a thing.
That is pretty tasteless, especially when he still has a production deal.
While I am no artist, (just photos) I think its the new studio head, no pun intended who is chopping down the forest to plant his own little seedlings who may or may not survive the Hollywood melt down.
Lesher is clearly a smart guy who took on too much. But that is NO excuse for CRYING like a bitch. The man cries. HAHAHAHAHA!
Hi Nikki, any news on the Paramount production staff meeting on Tuesday night?
Art Art Art, not not not. Last week maybe it would have been better? I doubt it. Leftover people will undermine you, watch out (all caps!) come on; the people that Lesher invited to work with him were not his friends in the first place. He likely selected experts and some will stay and some are gone. boo hoo have fun dancing on his grave now haters, because you have not seen or heard the last from him.
This is the most obvious, lame excuse for a cartoon. What’s the matter? No puns with NO CO COUNTRY, we couldn’t figure something cheeky, obvious, and two weeks late in regards to AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH? Come on, Nikke, forreals, my unborn child could make something a bit deeper than this. This makes dilbert look like a Jeff Koonz.
Justice For All – “VERY IMPORTANT”: if you’re so worried about the potential undermining of Brad Grey and Goodman by the remaining former Lesher hires in publicity and marketing then why not lob in a call to them and let them know?? I’m sure they’re shaking in their boots feeling like lambs tied to stakes at the moment just wondering when the horrific blood bath of undermining will begin! I’m sure they’ll want a sage like you close by, so perhaps you’ll get transferred to H.R. where you can apply for a job working in one of the lovely restaurants on the lot serving up cesar salads with chicken and offering your fortune tellings up to the execs for tips.
Great suggestion by ‘PleaseStop’ regarding doing a strip vs. the editorials… I’d love to see the film biz equivalent of David Rees’ GET YOUR WAR ON.
He is the last Paramount Exec to get a shout out at the Academy Awards, by Meg Ryan’s boyfriend no less.
a picture is worth a thousand words.
and i didnt even have to think original! let alone draw..
@ The Word:
Get Your War On! I so totally forgot about that amazing strip!
the only problem with this picture is that the blade is not dull enough.
Art should save the prototype of the cartoon for the inevitable day when Goodman winds up there, too and the happy, happy day when Grey ends up there, too.
Re: Lesher – i’m not shedding tears for the guy. He lucked into a job he wasn’t qualified for – he should be grateful for the time he had. And, as per, the time he had – he used it to act like a jack ass and treat people horribly.
He’ll do fine. He’s a fucktard of the worst degree but he does have an eye for picking artistic-swayed films that do well.
