Are the Hollywood idiots proud of their Jesus Lord Christ Messiah (FRAUD)? Nice comment about the Special Olympics. This country is a goner. Next time can you bat crap crazy wing nuts do your homework before you vote to flush America down the crapper? Your Buffoon in Chief is a massive failure, fraud, and worldwide EMBARRASSMENT. WTF is up with going on Leno in the first place? What a joke this so called “administration” is. Did they fire Geitner yet? Dodd? Pelosi-the-Pig? Are you happy about where your pathetic, hard earned dollars are going? ROFLMAO. Nice work Hollywood for pushing this jerk on the world.
Of course the apologies for Obama’s incredibly offensive joke about the Special Olympics come down like water from his followers (the media, that is)…the same joke that would have provided screaming frontpage headlines and columns and op-eds about Bush’s ignorant insensitivity.
But of course, jokes about the mentally challenged are okay coming from libs – remember all the Sarah Palin postings about her baby?
When does this asshole ever WORK?! And when does his Campaign of bullshit ever end?!
But the presidency and congress has been denigrated to a level never foreseen. After just two months one can only fear what will come next.
It’s okay Drudger’s, we know your cranky. Why don’t you have some cookies and warm milk and take a nap. You’ll feel much better when you wake up, because if this attitude keeps up, we’re going to have to put you in a time out.
Yeah, what a tragedy. A President with wit, humanity, grace and intelligence, communicating with an America that probably doesn’t watch Hannity OR Olbermann. You misanthropic dead-enders really don’t deserve your good fortune. The rest of us (The Great Americans)who’d prefer solutions and a future (as opposed to the nihilistic endtimes many of you seem to find affirming)will muddle thru the process of repairing the damage done. Whatever will come next will be vastly preferable to what preceded it. And you’re welcome;)
Isn’t just like america to give a black man 3 months to fix what Republicans screwed up in 8 years?
You guys are hilarious! You guys criticize Obama, be thankful its not McCain he probably would have had a heart attack by now and Palin would really make the Whitehouse in a Special Olympics type operation. We’ve already had a retarded president for the last eight year and he’s the cause of the catastrophe. Oh how quickly we forget. So just thank your lucky stars that we have such a thoughtful person as president.
I would have to agree with the comment about the congress, but Obama has done an Amazing jobs so far considering the former chimp in chief caused so many problems:
Depreciation in the value of the dollar
Hatred of Gays
Assault on English Language
China, Japan, Russia own half of our country
THE FUCKING ECONOMIC CRISIS
etc etc etc etc etc etc etc……………
The fact is were lucky that this country still exists after the colossal fuck up of the last eight years. If you don’t acknowledge the trouble were in and the cause of it then you are delusional.
So before you star criticizing Obama, look at what he has to deal with first. He’s been president for 60 days, thing don’t get better that quickly. Eve Dubya took a year before his policies turned this country for the worse.
Anyways, you think he’s going on Leno because its fun, No he’s doing it to keep peoples confidence high, in him, in the economy and tell them not to panic because the administration is doing everything it can to remedy all the mistakes of W.
Well, at least Obama acknowledges a distasteful remark with an immediate apology. That’s all anyone can ask. It’s the proper thing to do. Now, he’ll move forward –onward and upward.
By contrast, the conservative ilk still haven’t gotten around to acknowledging that “Magic Negro” (among other atrocities) was a poor way to reference the then President-Elect.
And Nikki, honestly, you really do need to exercise some serious troll control on this blog. The non-stop “Messiah” and “teleprompter” references about Obama have become as stale and one-note as another Judd Apatow man-boy protagonist. The fumbling, sore loser part of the electorate definitely needs some new talking points.
Gosh, Nikki, the right-wingers seem to be out in force on Deadline Hollywood. As if electing McCain (“four more years of Bush policy”) wouldn’t have sent the U.S. into the crapper immediately after the election, and for the rest of time. At least with Obama, the U.S. has a chance to recover some of its past glory.
Personally I did not watch the President last night. I have been following the news daily and did not feel the need to see the man explain things to “the poor dumb masses” who watched trying to comprehend what is going on in Washington.
However, I do believe that our young inexperienced commander-in-chief felt the pressure and ran to the west coast where he knows the is a strong loyal following who salivates at every overlong speech.
He has a problem and I pray he finds the wisdom to stop the spiral without further compounding the issues while learning on the job.
Nice job, Special O. What an ass clown.
Not sure why I’m bothering but I’ll respond to the first poster just to kill time (as thanks to the economy the Bush administration created, there’s very little work to be found.)
“Are the Hollywood idiots proud of their Jesus Lord Christ Messiah (FRAUD)?”
Ronald Reagan, the Hollywood actor, was head of SAG. He came from Hollywood. Arnold (a Nixon-loving Republican) does, too. Republican Fred Thompson (a Hollywood actor) announced his candidacy for President on a Hollywood show (The same Tonight Show you’re mad at Obama for going on.) The most frequent guest on The Daily Show? John McCain. And McCain was in Hollywood blockbuster Wedding Crashers to boot. That’s liberal Hollywood for you, baby!
“Nice comment about the Special Olympics.” This is the one point you raise that I (and I assume everyone) can agree with. It was insensitive and dumb. He apologized on the flight back home before the show had even aired. Still, an offensive comment on his part and worthy or critique. He is human and as humans do, said something really stupid and hurtful.
“This country is a goner. Next time can you bat crap crazy wing nuts do your homework before you vote to flush America down the crapper?”
George Bush already flushed it down the crapper. Repeatedly. And yet you didn’t seem upset at the time. How odd.
“Your Buffoon in Chief is a massive failure, fraud, and worldwide EMBARRASSMENT.”
He is beloved around the world, and his election alone has sent a message to the Muslim world that we in fact do not hate them (given his middle name and time spent in Indonesia as a child, and his father’s religion.)
“WTF is up with going on Leno in the first place?”
The president has a set of policies he is trying to push through that are game-changers and huge. So he is going directly to the American people to help his policies gain popularity. He is quite good at this and should continue to do so. It’s part of getting his job done.
“What a joke this so called “administration” is. Did they fire Geitner yet? Dodd? Pelosi-the-Pig?”
While he can fire Geitner, Dodd is a Senator and not at the whims of the President. Pelosi is in Congress. Do you not know the three branches of Government? Also, calling Pelosi a pig does not help your argument come off as smart nor help persuade anyone. But I assume simple ranting is your point and not actually trying to convince anyone why your point of view is correct.
“Are you happy about where your pathetic, hard earned dollars are going? ROFLMAO. Nice work Hollywood for pushing this jerk on the world.”
I would much rather my money went to the Wall Street bailout and all the social programs (health care, infrastructure, green technology, education) that Obama has planned. Yes. Much rather that than simply watching it solely go to the Wall Street bailout as Bush proposed while not caring at all about Main Street.
I am not a “Drudger.” I am a lifelong Dem. who voted for Obama. I am also the father of a Special Olympian and was thoroughly repulsed when reading of the president’s remark.
I will not vote for Obama again, nor will I watch Leno again. If someone makes a comment like that you condemn the statement immediately. I guess Jay thought it was funny.
A slip of the tongue is one thing. But this was not a slip of the tongue. The first apologies were uttered by Obama underlings post-show.
I’m done with the guy. It was stupid for a president to appear on a lowest common denominator talk show, and he compounded by the stupidity with his incredibly ignorant “joke.”
“By contrast, the conservative ilk still haven’t gotten around to acknowledging that “Magic Negro” (among other atrocities) was a poor way to reference the then President-Elect.”
The “Magic Negro” reference was originally from a column in the uber-liberal L.A. Times – get your records straight!
“Yeah, what a tragedy. A President with wit, humanity, grace and intelligence…”
Yeah, it takes a lot of wit, grace, and intelligence to make fun of the mentally handicapped.
It was, however, bold of him to insult all the people that voted for him — the retarded, I mean.
Wasn’t Bush still on vacation 59 days into his first term?
Either that or he was taking long naps on the oval office couch to recover from the campaign.
MD – real classy comment about Palin turning the White House into a Special Olympics, I guess you’re so hateful you just want people to abort all Down’s Syndrome babies?
& let’s run down some of your list of problems Obama has to improve:
Iraq: Obama to leave permanent occupying force of 50,000 US troops and withdraw the rest a whole two months prior to Bush would have done.
Afghanistan: to try a surge he wrongly predicted would fail in Iraq.
Budget Deficits: His budget will have $1tn+ deficits as far as the eye can see, he will double the national debt of all previous Presidents combined. Every year will be worse than Bush’s worst year.
Foreclosures: no plan, maybe he’s too busy picking basketball brackets to notice it’s a problem.
Guantanomo: has said he will try, try and close it in a year, hasn’t said what he’ll do with the terrorists.
Wire-tapping: continuing Bush’s policy to the letter,
Economic crisis:nominates Treasury Secretary who (a) can’t hire any members of his team (b) can’t pay his own taxes and (c) ran the New York Fed while all this was happening two blocks away.
Change we can all believe in!
President Barack Obama and the Democratic-controlled Congress is engaging in class warfare at the moment. This man is devaluing the office by going onto these comedy shows. And to all you Liberals blaming Bush for any and everything; look, had Bush said something similar to the special olympics comment he would have been crucified by the “objective” mainstream media. You have to at least admit the double standard, because if not, your just as clueless as other Obama supporters. At least Bush kept the country safe after the worst attack on our soil in its history. You liberals aren’t going to realize the gravity of your ignorance until islamofacists nuke a U.S. metropolitan city…..Ignorance truly is bliss with Obama supporters.
“At least bush kept the country safe after the worst attack on our soil in it’s history.”
Really? Really?! By invading a country that had nothing to do with it? And before you berate me for being a liberalcommiehomo let me just say that one of my best friend was in Naval Intelligence for years (he was part of a joint venture with all the branches to monitor communications around the world looking for threats – they got a lot of bad guys) and when we invaded Iraq, he and his colleagues were DUMBFOUNDED! There was no evidence suggesting that Iraq had anything to do with 9/11 – ever. The terrorists were Saudi – but the Bush administration would never say anything bad about them.
This whole thought that we are somehow safer today than we were on 9/11 because of the Bush Administration is rediculous. We are now safer now than we we ever were. If anything, we are more in danger.
You right wing nut jobs are like kids that got kicked out of the sandbox for throwing sand in all the other kids faces. now all you can do is stand on the sidlines and throw you temper tantrums and bitch and moan about the the sandbox is going to go down the toilet now that you are not in control of it.
Do you even understand that the “media” is controlled by huge corporations that wanted nothing more than for the policies of the last 8 years to continue?
George Bush may have been incredibly stupid to be president, but President Obama’s remarks were incredibly cruel.
The special Olympics comment revealed several truths about Obama — 1. he is not particularly intelligent, 2. he is not particularly mature or respectful of others, 3. he cannot speak without his teleprompter feeding him words written by others for him to regurgitate (his sole talent).
When the most powerful man in the world uses his platform to cavalierly heap humiliation on the most helpless and scorned in our society, we are deep and serious trouble.
Four more years of corruption and incompentance after the last eight may just do us in.
To quote the great Chuck Norris: “When I want your opinion, I’ll beat it out of you”.
I never supported Obama. I am not an Obama fan. However, I don’t think that going on Leno and getting to speak to people who ordinarily won’t hear you is a bad idea. I also don’t think that the SPecial Olympics comment was intended to be anything other than a bad joke. It was an unfortunate choice of words, and since this morning on GMA the head of Special Olympics said the apology was enough, I’ll take that. I also think that people work better when they have some distraction, I won’t hold having bracket picks against him.
However, the issues that made me not vote for Obama are still in play. The thing that bothered me about this interview was his answer to Leno saying it’s scary to think that the gov’t cna just decide they don’t like someone and tax the hell of them. Obama didn’t actually answer (even after having a commercial break). I understand that the AIG execs should not under any circumstances be allowed to keep their bonuses. However, I don’t see that taxing them so much is any more legal than say wire tapping
All these posts about Obama and not one mention that Leno still can’t conduct an interesting interview?
How this guy is getting a Prime Time slot is beyond me.
