FCC Chairman Kevin Martin, a Republican, today confirmed his January 20th departure. Democratic FCC Commissioner Michael Copps will take over until the Obama administration’s choice of chairman, Julius Genachowski, is confirmed. Martin’s departure means that three of the FCC’s five commissioners will be new this year. These next months may be Maalox moments for Big Media.
