With her two year contract expiring on July 18th, Janet Hill is leaving as Paramount Pictures chief Brad Grey’s corporate mouthpiece. The veteran of MTV Networks and Miramax hasn’t decided exactly what she’ll do next. And there’s no one set to replace her either, so get those resumes ready all you Hollywood flacks looking for a big fat job. Hill was named to the newly created position of Executive Vice President of Corporate Communications, Paramount Pictures, back in July 2005. Based in LA, she oversaw internal and external business and media communications and public relations for the company during a two year period when her boss was beat up almost weekly by the Hollywood media because of the Pellicano scandal, his studio’s lack of branded product and all those disputes with DreamWorks. Before that, Hill was the Senior Vice President of West Coast Corporate Communications for MTV Networks, and worked closely with MTV’s and Nickelodeon’s film divisions. And previous to that she was Executive Vice President of Publicity for Miramax Films, where she suffered the slings and arrows of working for Harvey Weinstein for eight long years. On the other hand, she’s also had the misfortune of putting up with me.
