Roger Friedman’s Fox 411 online today and the Los Angeles Times (tomorrow’s edition?) think they have a scoop because they were sent a 1988 Malibu Sheriff’s police report about an altercation between Ron Meyer, back when he was a CAA partner, and his then girlfriend, Cyndy Garvey, the former talk show host. Both media outlets believe there’s an Anthony Pellicano connection in how the incident ultimately played out and wonder if this is the key to the studio boss-P.I.’s friendship detailed in Monday’s New York Times. Are they aware that the old Spy magazine printed this same police report way back when? Actually, I investigated the heck out of this in the 1990s. Hang on, and I’ll dredge up my reporting. There’s a lot you don’t know.
Meyer & Garvey & Pellicano Scoop? Nah.
